Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Stopped Fast Charging

One of last year’s top performing smartphone, the #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 can still hold its ground against some of this year’s latest flagship phones. This device has a polished aluminum frame that has Gorilla Glass on both the front and the back. Its 5.8 inch Super AMOLED is one of the best displays to be used on a mobile device. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 835 processor which when combined with 4GB of RAM makes the device run apps smoothly. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 stopped fast charging issue and other related problems.

S8 Stopped Fast Charging

Problem: hello droid guy, i have been using my samsung S8 for a year now but suddenly my phone stop fast charging,  at first it was cord determined ,and would only fast charge on power bank, but now my phone slow charges both on power bank & travel adapter …. tried some tips like recovery mode, tried raising the port contact up ,, didn’t solve anything. if i connect my phone to pc ,,,usb is not recognised …. could it ever be my charging flex hardware ….help.

Solution: For this particular issue I suggest that you start by cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port as this could interfere with the charging process. Once the port is clean check if the phone will fast charge using a wall charger. If it doesn’t then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

S8 Power Button Not Working

Problem: Power button not working, when phone was on the device was working fine, all apps etc running fine, however the power button wouldn’t work. While trying to fix the issue the battery ran out. The device has charged perfectly fine but the phone will not turn on. I have tried all combinations of buttons for various amounts of time but to no avail, it still won’t turn on. I AM UNCERTAIN OF THE ANDROID VERSION OF THE PHONE AND ONLY PICKED FROM THE LIST BELOW TO BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE FORM

Solution: Since this is already a hardware related problem which might require the replacement of the power button the best thing that you can do is to have the phone repaired at a service center.

S8 Will Not Charge After Battery Replacement

Problem: I had the battery in my S8 replaced and now it will not charge. It’s no longer connected to the charging port – what I mean is that when I plug it to a charger or even connect via usb to my laptop, it doesn’t show the lightening bolt or show that it’s charging. Im wondering if something happened when the battery was changed? I’d appreciate any help. I have tried all of the trouble shooting like clearing the cache. starting in recovery mode, safe mode. I cleaned the charging port, used different chargers, etc. My now new battery is almost dead.

Solution: It looks like some hardware component got damaged during the battery replacement or the new battery itself is not accepting any charge. Try to eliminate first the other factors that can be causing this problem by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.
  • Check if you are able to charge the phone using a wireless charger. If the phone charges this way then the problem could be caused by a faulty charging port assembly.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Water Drop Sign With Exclamation Mark When Charging

Problem: I am having issues charging my phone every time I try to charge it a sign comes up with a water drop and the (!) in a triangle, it has been a few hours now like 7 hours, all I did was accidentally drop my phone in the bath for a second, it’s a new phone can you please help, it’s the Samsung s8.

Solution: The problem is most likely caused by moisture present in the charging port of the phone. Make sure that the port is dry by using a mini vacuum or hair dryer on it. Once the port is dry then try charging the phone. If the same issue persists then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the problem is caused by a software glitch by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
