S8+ Slow Charging

Problem: I am experiencing very slow charging all of the sudden. I just got my phone a couple of months ago new from Verizon. It was charging great and then all of the sudden the wall charger charges very very slow. When I plug it into my car charger it charges like normal. Why is this? If this is how it is going to be I would like to exchange my phone because I can not be in my car every time that I need to charge my phone. I left Apple and went to Google in hopes of a better product and so far I am not very happy.

Solution: There’s a possibility that the problem could be caused by a faulty charging cord since you mentioned that the phone charges fine with your car charger. Try using a different charging cord first then check if the issue still occurs. In case it does then proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger ( should have an output of t least 2.0A)
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if the issue still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might be caused by a damaged charging port. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S8+ Charges Slowly

Problem: I bought a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S8+ about 6 months ago. I started experiencing issues with it a month or so after I bought it. The battery would drain quickly and completely die on 15-30%. Sometime after that it would die on 60%. Now it doesn’t die, but it turns off on 60-80%. It will either restart or try to restart and never make it passed the first Samsung screen. I may just get a new phone entirely cause I’m tired of it.

Solution: There are instances when a battery will drain quickly due to an app running in the phone or some glitch in the phone software. This is what we will be checking first.

Make sure that all apps in your phone are updated and that the phone is running on the latest software version.

Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the problem persists then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then the problem could be a faulty phone battery. You will need to bring this phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Boot Loop After Software Update

Problem: Hello there my problem is that I was doing software update on my S8+ and it went good but when it finished it got into a boot loop. A special one I think cause i can only use the download mode and nothing else at all I can’t use recovery nor get the device to boot so i can stare the flashing galaxy logo or the download mode. I need your help really desperately cause after I have flashed the stock ROM with  Odin the problem still persists even after PIT re partitioning! Help me!!!

Solution: There’s a big possibility that this problem is already caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. This component might have failed at the same time the software update was performed. Since you have already tried flashing the phone with its stock ROM which does not fix the problem then you will need to have this repaired at a service center.

S8+ Not Turning On After Overnight Charging

Problem: Hello, i charged my phone overnight and i do this quite often, but this time i did and woke up to it not being able to turn on. There are no LED lights at the top right that are flashing at all. So my assumption is that i might have fried my battery from overcharging. Not sure what to do or what really happened because it was working perfectly fine before. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+. Any suggestions would be great

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge by performing the steps listed below.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
