Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Oreo Software Update Fails To Download

Welcome to another installment of our troubleshooting series where we aim to help our readers who own the #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 fix the issues that they are experiencing with their phone. This model is last year’s flagship phone that introduces several key changes in the South Korean company’s premium model. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 Oreo software update fails to download issue and other related problems.

S8 Oreo Software Update Fails To Download

Problem: Trying to update to android 8.0. It downloads the update and the reboots the phone as it should. It runs the update on reboots and gets to 24% complete and fails. I’ve tried this several times and it always fails at the same spot. I’ve gone into safe mode and wiped the cache, but it still fails at 24%. No error code.

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to try downloading the update with the phone connected to a different Wi-Fi network. This way you can check if the problem is caused by the internet connection. In case the issue still persists then you will have to consider doing a factory reset before updating your phone. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the update. Alternatively, you can also connect your phone to a computer with Smart Switch installed then use the software to update your phone.

S8 Call Volume Low After Software Update

Problem: I was trying to find the android version name (no way just Numbers). To begin with, I have this galaxy S8 for 1 year, All my problems started after the mark 1 year, that matches the FULL PAYMENT OF THE PHONE, Then  Sprint offer me NEW Purchase options (WANTING ME TO BUY A NEW PHONE ASAP( push, push, here were the problem starts ) Since I don’t want to buy a new phone then, VERY, BUT VERY FREQUENTS UPDATES starts to popup, first was monthly, then weekly…. And with new update some small bug starts to show up .This is REALLY BAD!   who to trust nowadays . I am a electronic technician and understand hardware/software…..so there is no reason for them to fail, only if you fix in software bugs. How in the world there is such a coincidence after the one year mark my phone after the updates starts to creates problems i wish I could prove this malicious business malpractices from (i believe) SAMSUNG wanting me to buy a new phone . I was updating every 2 weeks or so….. and lately was as soon as I did an update, then in 2 DAYS!!!!!! ANOTHER UPDATE SHOWS UP

My latest 2 major bugs that is obvious a software bug they fixed in my phone:

1- all setting for sounds are on HIGHEST VOLUME. every sound works well to high volume, BUT when I am talking with someone in a call conversations (I REALLY GET SOOOO MAD) my sounds GOES DOWN to 10% of volume, I can’t hear well and end up set speaker phone, then the other person gets all the noise of the place I am in.  WOW!!! is this a S.O.B. malicious business malpractice…. this would be a BIG CASE FOR BRING SAMSUNG TO COURT, I would love to bring their crap open to the general public.

2- Now even without any update I made for the past 1.5 month (the previous updates had already SET UP A TIME BOMB….. it was just ticking until the other day the MAJOR GALLERY app that comes with the phone, so see/move/browse pictures started to RANDOMICALLY  WHITE OUT or BLACK OUT pictures I want to see WOW this is another BIG LAW SUITE CASE. Then I went to the google app store downloaded another PICTURE manipulation APP and everything works well

3- back in Feb 2018 I was in a trip to Washington DC and using the GPS on my phone…. stopped for drink on the highway, 15 minutes later back in the road, when I press to make my phone to bring back the GPS (which I had never shut down the GPS app) not even my phone EVER CAME BACK ON this NEVER EVER HAPPENED BEFORE (besides been fully charged, I was traveling using charger plug in) I kept without phone for 2 days…. It never started back up again. Then finally on a sprint store, then I learned about the REBOOT (start button + Volume up + Home)

I can’t express enough…. how this is very much fixed software bugs by Samsung wanting me to buy a new phone. Is there out there a company who’s looking to track this software malicious practices I can come in contact with? This type of unscrupulous business has to come out on public

Solution: Since you are experiencing several issues with the phone after a software update then the best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. In case it doesn’t then the problem is most likely caused by a software glitch.
