Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Is Off Only Vibrates When Connected To Charger

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is a flagship phone released last year that offers a fresh design in the way the South Korean company makes their premium devices. One noticeable feature of this phone is that the physical home button has been removed making it possible for the display to occupy most of the front portion of the device. The device is quite powerful, having a Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 4GB of RAM allows it to run smoothly. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our  troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 is off only vibrates when connected to charger issue and other related problems.

S8 Is Off Only Vibrates When Connected To Charger

Problem: I have a galaxy s8 which worked perfectly fine. Then one day it died and I plugged it in to charge it however the phone vibrated several times like if the charger wasn’t working. I went to the car to try another cable but then it wouldn’t even turned on period. At first I thought it was a regular black screen of death but I tried all the forced reset tricks and the Samsung screen wouldn’t ever pull up. When I charge it, I only see a small white line flickering towards the bottom of the screen. But the rest of the screen remains black. Anyone have an idea what may be wrong? Battery? Display?

Solution: For this particular issue you should first try cleaning the charging port of the phone as dirt or debris stuck in it might be preventing the phone from being charged. Once the port has been cleaned try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone ( leave it charging for at least 20 minutes). If the issue is still the same then try charging the phone from a computer USB port. You can also check if the phone can charge from a wireless charger.

In case the above steps fails to work then this is already a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty battery or some other component. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Not Turning On After Getting Wet

Problem: Hello i went to the beach to do some jet ski. I thought my s8 was waterproof. I placed my s8 in my pocket then went into the water. My pocket wasn’t even 15cm deep and after i took my phone out it didn’t turn on.

Solution: Although this phone has a waterproof and dustproof feature this is still no assurance that the device can get water damaged especially if the rubber seals that prevent water from entering the phone gets damaged. Let’s assume that water has indeed entered the phone. What you will do is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture present in the phone. Once this is done connect the phone to a wall charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

In case the phone still does not turn on then I suggest that you have this checked at a service center.

S8 Moisture Detected Error Even If Phone Is Not Wet

Problem: Hello, I have been getting the moisture warning on my Galaxy S8. I have read your help suggestions. However, I can start charging the phone and it will charge for a period of time, then flash the message. I have even used different charging cords to see if that was the problem. I didn’t have any problems with the phone until an update about a week ago. ever since the update I have this problem as well as apps not working correctly. I am ready to toss the phone in the garbage. I greatly appreciate your time and any help.

Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is caused by a glitch in the update process. This is of course assuming that the phone is not wet or the charging port has no moisture present. The best thing that you can do in this particular case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This reset will delete any old software data that has not been removed during the update process and is causing this problem.

S8 Not Recognized By Computer

Problem: Hi, I believe I am having a charging port issue. Here is the problem: I can fast charge the device via usb-c cable that came with the phone. However, when I flip the usb connector upside down, it will only slow charge. Also, my phone is not getting recognized by my computer. When I plug it into my computer via usb 2.0 or 3.0 port, it does not appear in windows explorer. I have cleaned the port and dried it using a hairdryer. I have updated the drivers on my computer and tried on another computer.I have enabled usb debugging in developer options. Have you encountered such a problem before?

Solution: Have you tried using a different charging cord? If you haven’t then try getting a new cord as the problem could be caused by the cord that you are using. If the issue persists then there’s a possibility that the charging port of the phone is faulty. You will need to have this checked at a service center if this is the case.
