S8+ Is Not Fast Charging

Problem: Hi…Whenever I charge my phone it shows Fast charging & within a minute it automatically swaps & shows Cable charging. I have tried in safe mode, factory reset, wipe cache, & checked with another new adapter & usb also, Even I cleaned usb & charging port with cleaner but the problem remains same..:disappointed: Note:(I am not sure, but I noticed this problem started when I put dual SIM in it,) I am eagerly waiting for your help.. Thank you.

Solution: To make sure that your phone will fast charge you should enable this setting in your device. Go to Settings > Device maintenance > Battery > Advanced settings and turn on Fast cable charging. Use the provided Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger or a Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 charger to charge the phone. It will usually take 2 hours to charge the phone from 0 to 100.

In case the issue still persists and since you have already performed most of the recommended troubleshooting steps for this type of problem then make sure that the phone is running on the latest software version. If it is then you will need to contact the Samsung support team regarding this matter.

S8+ Black Screen of Death

Problem: I have a Galaxy S8+ that has the Black Screen of Death.  I can hear it turn on, it vibrates, the blue light flashes, but the screen is black.  Your solutions don’t work for me (resetting the phone, etc.) because I can’t see anything on the screen.  I’ve tried the suggestions on YouTube. Nothing works. Do I need to throw the phone away?

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to try to restart the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. In case the screen is still black then I would recommend that you start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this might already be caused by a damaged display assembly. You should have this checked at a service center. It’s likely that you will need to have the display of your phone replaced.

S8+ Freezes

Problem: Hey, my S8+ has been having some issues, at times the home screen would freeze then resulting to the phone just randomly blacking out and going off. When I turn it back on, half of the battery would be dead. At first I thought the battery of the phone was the problem . The phone and the apps have become harder to use because it’s slowing down and the constant blackouts, I now have to carry my charger around in cases it’s blacks out and I have no battery at all.

Solution: If your phone has a microSD card then try removing this card as this might be causing the problem. In case the issue still occurs even with the card removed then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the problem occurs in this mode. In case it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Does Not Charge

Problem: I just bought an S8 plus, when it arrived yesterday in the mail my fiance plugged it in to charge it, it never charged…I’ve tried multiple cables and still no charging icon, won’t turn on, won’t do anything…I don’t know what version of Android is on it because it won’t power on…was wondering what I could do short of returning the phone…any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then use a charging cord and wall charger (that have been tested to work on another device) to charge the phone for at least 20 minutes. In case the phone still does not charge then I recommend you have this replaced.

S8+ Battery Is Draining Fast

Problem: My battery is draining faster lately .. especially when i play games .. after uninstalling some apps .. the battery showed some improvement .. but when i play games .. the same problem persists .. a year ago i used to play for two hours with only like 30% charge using ! Now playing for half an hour takes consumes about 15% of battery charge

Solution: It appears that the battery of your phone has degraded over time due to the constant high power demand of the games that you are playing. If this issue occurs only when playing games then it’s likely that your battery is not in its peak performance anymore. You could consider having the battery replaced with a new one to fix this problem.
