S8+ Gets Hot Battery Drains Fast

Problem: Issues with battery drain and the device getting very hot. Can take off charge and not even use and a couple.of hrs later it has lost 50% battery and is at a very hot state All  around the device. different charger have been tried (yes these were all official Samsung equipment). I have uninstalled all irrelevant apps and factory reset and all made no difference. No live wallpaper is on, it is a static wallpaper the same as the lock screen.hope you can advise

Solution: Does your phone have a microSd card installed? Sometimes if this card has corrupt sectors it can affect the performance of the phone resulting in issues such as this. Try removing the microSD card in case your phone has one installed as this might be causing the problem.

In case the issue persists and since you have already performed a factory reset which does not seem to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S8+ Encryption Was Interrupted Error

Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S8+ asked me for my encryption password. I have no idea what is it. I tried a few times. Now I’m stuck it says, “Unable to start up your device. The encryption was interrupted. You need to reset your device to factory default settings. This will erase all of your data. I kept pressing reset again and again but it wont work. I tried your method on your website but it keeps doing the same thing after it.

Solution: There are several factors that can cause this particular problem. If you have not setup the phone to be encrypted then this is most likely caused by some software glitch. What you will want to do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then from here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

S8+ Does Not Turn On

Problem: so, my mother left her galaxy S8+ at my place bc she said it would start turn on process but shut off 5-10 seconds into it. i fixed it by deleting last app she downloaded. phone does have overheating problems, i use it for internet and gaming alot when im home. that was maybe a year ago. well, last night i left it on charger when i slept, woke in middle of the night and unplugged it bc it was fully charged. i leave phone on if its with me charging. i woke up in morning and found it dead, power button wont even turn it on. so i plugged it in and it was loading battery then it showed a screen where battery was full. while plugged it i pressed power button and it turned on but only makes it to the final samsung word before you’re supposed to see your locked screen and goes black and vibrates once, dead off…… shows loading battery and then green full battery again. so i would think it must be the battery, if not the battery once i have the store test with a new battery if they have one ……….. then i’d have to guess id have to hand it over for them to find out what the problem is?

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to make sure that the battery is getting charged by the charger by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it is removed.
  • Try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. In case the phone does not charge then try charging it from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then try turning on the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be caused by a faulty battery. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

S8+ Not Turning On Unless Connected To Charger

Problem: Hi, I am hoping to get assistance with my S8+. This would be a refurbished phone I got through insurance 2-3 months ago. The phone charges but I cannot turn it on unless it is on a charger. When I turn it on, the screen will randomly go black but the it will be still on but at times it will actually turn off and the charging screen will appear. Another issue, when the phone does turn off after I turn it on, the charge percentage will randomly be from 0-10 but has been on the charger. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Solution: The best way to troubleshoot this issue is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. This way you can check if a software glitch is causing this problem. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data.

In case the issue persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. You will need to have this checked at a service center if this is the case.
