S8+ Drops Wi-Fi Connection After Android Oreo Update

Problem: Immediately following and ever since the recent update (I believe it updated to Oreo) I have had issues with my S8+ maintaining a connection. I have small connection failures (orange wifi symbol blinking in the middle of the screen) of 2 minutes or less probably 20 to 30 times a day and large ones (completely dropping the current app connection) 2 to 5 times a day. This is not a location based issue as it’s in my shop where it has not had this issue since I got the device. It is also not internet/router based as 3 other Samsung devices in the same area are not experiencing this. A TabS, a S5 and a S7. The fact that none of these devices received the Oreo update is another reason I believe this issue is related to / caused by the update. I should also mention that where my shop is located has very little cellular service so I believe it’s mainly wifi that we are connected through. I hope I’ve included all the information you require to help me correct this issue if it’s indeed correctable on my end. Thank you.

Solution: If you have already made sure that the issue is not caused by the router then there’s a chance that this issue is caused by some form of old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. To fix this problem you should try forgetting the Wi-Fi connection from your phone then connect to it again. In case the issue still persists then you will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S8+ Wi-Fi Stopped Working

Problem: Well last night i was sitting here on my phone browsing the app store downloaded some games and was looking at fb when all of a sudden my wifi goes completely out and i can not do anything ( i do not have phone service atm and i just use wifi for all of the stuff that i want to do) so i restarted the phone a few times nothing then i wiped the phone clean and still nothing…but when i restarted my router it seemed to fix it…not aware that i would have the exact same problem later on tomorrow in which i have now…i am not sure what i need to do to fix this i can not be without my phone at all…is there something i can download that will update the phone ANY suggestions at all?? thanks in advance my geeky friends!!

Solution: If the problem got resolved by restarting the router then it’s very likely that it is caused by an issue with the router itself. You will need to verify this further by checking if other devices connected to the router experience the same problem.

S8+ Will Not Connect To Wi-Fi

Problem: Hello.. my phone samsung S8+ won’t connect to wifi.. did many restart even factory reset but its not helping. I can not even install any apps due to wifi is searching and searching at the end its say no wifi connection..I don’t know what to do ..please I need help .

Solution: Try checking if the same issue occurs when you try connecting the phone to a different Wi-Fi network. In case it does then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Not Remembering Wi-Fi Password

Problem: I have samsung S8 plus AT&T. I gave problem connecting in WI-FI. every time I connect WiFi it asks to enter password each and every time, which is very annoying it doesn’t remember password of wifi . Searched various forums, no satisfactory results. Donesoft reset as well, but nothing fruitful

Solution: The best way to fix this problem right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset as this is most likely caused by a software glitch.

S8+ Wi-Fi Does Not Turn On

Problem: Dear Team,I haven’t been able to turn on the WiFi function on my S8 plus. When I do try to turn them on, the icon shows its in the process of being turned on, but that’s it, it never get on. This has been going on for about a week now, I have talk with Samsung Customer care service and they advised to do the factory Reset and i have done the same but still i am getting same error.

Solution: If a factory reset does not fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty Wi-Fi chip. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it repaired.
