Solved Samsung Galaxy S8 Camera Photos Are Blurry

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is one of the premium smartphone models available in the market that has a camera system that takes excellent quality photos. The phone uses a 12MP rear camera with dual pixel technology which allows it to capture more light resulting in great photos even at night. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 camera photos are blurry issue and other related problems.

S8 Camera Photos Are Blurry

Problem: While on a recent trip to Scotland  my Galaxy S8, which has always taken GREAT photos, started misbehaving.  The first week no problem and then suddenly all the photos I took were blurry, as if it was a low resolution capture or slightly out of focus. When I view the photo in Gallery and try to pan through the images, there is a “Black” image/s following each bad photo. The phone did not go through an update before it started malfunctioning. Powering down did not help.  Although I am a Verizon customer, as I always do while in the UK, I bought a 30-day SIM card by EE . I installed it the first day and everything was great. The camera malfunction did not occur until 10 days later. Last year I was in Ireland and had a Vodafone card and had no issues. I swapped back to the Verizon when I returned and 2 days later the phone went through an update.   This unit according to Samsung has a non-removable battery. Any ideas would be really appreciated. Thank you.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then this could usually cause this kind of problem especially if the card has corrupted sectors. Try removing this card then take photos again. Check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you need to  proceed with the additional troubleshooting steps listed below. Proceed to the next step if the issue still occurs after performing a step.

  • Check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S8 Camera Photos Keep Moving Back To Internal Storage

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S8. There are things about the phone itself I’m not thrilled with but I love the camera so I keep keeping it. Lately though what’s been happening is that pictures that automatically go to the SD card are now somehow moving to the device storage. I put them back and then they move to the device memory again. This has happened several times. It is very frustrating. I just realized that a lot of the merry-go-round seems to be with the same pics. (Hmmm…) Is this something you’ve heard of? The last 3 folders I made…and put pics in…keep vanishing. Are there only a certain number of folders allowed within the photo app?

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the camera is set to save the photos to the microSD card.

  • Open the “Camera” app.
  • Select the settings gear icon located at the upper-right corner of the screen.
  • Scroll down and tap “Storage location“.
  • Select  “SD card” as .

If it is already properly set and the issue persists then the next step is to check if the issue is caused by a faulty microSD card. Try using a new card then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely caused by a software glitch in which case you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S8 Front Camera Takes Blurred Photos

Problem: When I put my Samsung S8 in selfie mode looking at it is blurred .When I take a picture the photos come out blurred in preview and saved; how can I get it back to where it was previously. Both my front and back camera have beautiful previews and photos but now back camera (or is it the front that take selfies ) photos and previews of blurred.. Please help I did the wipe cache and it’s still the same blurred but my I’m looking out toward the street to take someone else’s photo or any type of for that nature is perfect preview viewing and photo.

Solution: For this particular issue you should carefully inspect the front camera lens cover and make sure that it does not have any smudges as this could affect the quality of the photo taken. If necessary clean this part with a microfiber cloth. There’s also the possibility that this issue is caused by an app glitch. If this is the case then you should clear the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager.
