S7 Does Not Charge
Problem: Problem: Phone not responding/charging. I used this phone (Samsung S7) two months back and it was working fine. Now I need to use the phone again but it doesn’t turn on, Assuming it would have lost all its power, I tried recharging it for hours but the phone doesn’t respond at all. So there is no charging alert or notification when I plug in the charger. I have tried several sockets, they are working fine with other device. Please suggest if you have any solution.
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air as durst or dirt stuck in this port could be causing the problem. Before charging the phone again you should remove the microSD card then perform a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Try charging the phone again.
In case the issue still persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Charges Slowly
Problem: My phone was purchased 10/20/17 and operated just fine until about 10 days ago when even an overnight charge moves it about 2%. The charger cord is from Samsung and works fine on other items like Kindle and Samsung tablet. I have tried all the suggestions. The Verizon office where I bought the phone took out some unused apps, then told me to contact Samsung if that didn’t help. I can’t connect with Samsung – entering phone info on line results in a Verizon site opening. No phone number is available. I called Verizon; they told me to buy a new battery. If it is that, they should send me one for my 4 month old phone. I hope you can help.
Solution: If your phone charges slowly then this means that the battery is not getting the required power from the charger to charge it. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps that you need to do to fix the problem.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
- Try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
- Try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Do not install any apps after the reset instead try charging the phone first.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could be caused by a faulty battery or defective power IC.
S7 Turned Off While Charging
Problem: My S7 was on the charger and playing music through my Bluetooth speaker when it cut out. I checked on it and the screen is black with the red light is on. Nothing I have tried will wake it up. I have tried all possible button combinations. Also I am not sure what operating system it’s on.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to perform a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart. In case the issue remains then proceed with the steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Your aim is to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger.
- If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. The best thing you need to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Not Turning On After Battery Replacement
Problem: Hi, few hours ago, phone repairer installed a new battery in my Samsung S7 and it’s been more than an hour since its on charge but its not turning on and there is no red indicator light and it shows a symbol on the screen that its charging and more than an hour has gone by it hasn’t even charged 1%.
Solution: It looks like the replacement battery might be faulty or some component inside the phone got damaged during the battery replacement. What you should do in this case is to try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge your phone. If the issue remains then I suggest that you have this checked at a service center.
