Note 8 Screen Takes Too Long To Wake Up From Sleep

Problem: When note 8 goes to sleep i have to repeatedly press power for it to respond and wake up. The screen will sometimes show half the picture and then sometimes show the entire picture. Cant unlock it unless it shows the full unlock screen. I want to replace the screen but not for the price if the phones faulty. If I try fingerprint or hard home it freezes. When charging off shows full screen or soft reset shows the options

Solution: The first thing that you should do in this case is to eliminate the possibility of this being caused by a software glitch by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Try checking first if an app you downloaded is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. In case you don’t encounter the problem in this mode then it could be caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the issue still persists even after performing the steps listed above then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. To pinpoint the exact component that is failing to work properly you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 8 With Cracked Screen Not Turning On

Problem: Samsung Note 8 I dropped my phone and there is a crack on the screen, but the screen appears dead. The LED light up and the alarm goes off. I have tried the reboot options and cannot get the screen to come on. I am unsure whether to trying getting a new screen or if I am better to give up on the phone. Any help or advice would be much appreciate. Thank you for all the advice already on the website, although I haven’t managed to fix my phone it has been useful to try the different bits

Solution: It’s very likely that the screen has already been damaged judging from the crack that it got. You will need to have the screen checked and possibly replaced at a service center.

Note 8 Screen Keeps Going Black

Problem: New Galaxy Note 8   — very frustrating because the screen goes black every few moments and I have to keep signing in … almost constantly!   I set it to only go to sleep at the longest setting — 10 minutes (ridiculous — why can’t it just stay on all the time, or at least for a reasonable length of time) … and it still goes black every few seconds so that in between actions I have to sign in again.  Very frustrating!

Solution: Try checking if this problem is caused by an app you downloaded by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Do not install any apps yet after the reset. Try to check if the issue still occurs. In case it does then you should have the phone checked at a service center.

Note 8 Screen Is Black After Getting Wet

Problem: Hi, My son forgot his Samsung Note 8 in his pocket when he started to enter the swimming pool. Luckily only the top part of the phone touched the water when he realized it and handed me the phone. I quickly took the phone out of its protective case and wiped it down with my shirt. I did not know that we can open this phone. The phone worked and everything looked fine. An hour later the screen went black. We can hear him get messages and calls but the screen is black. The phone is currently in rice. What do you suggest we do? Any and all advice would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Solution: Although this is a waterproof phone there are still instances when water can enter the device which is what’s most likely happening right now. The best thing you can do is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. Once this is done check if the display will work. If it doesn’t then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
