Note 8 Screen Is Black

Problem: I have a note 8.  I was charging it was at 98%.  I was on the phone and needed to leave so it unplugged it while I was on the phone and hung up around the same time and manually shut the screen off..  about 30 minutes later, I i tried to call and the screen is black. when I try to call the phone it goes right to voicemail. doesn’t receive texts. i tried your procedures and many on youtube, even though they are the same.  I have haptic feel back where the phone number buttons are. no audio except volume up and down and vibrate work. I have been working on turning the volume up and down to burn the battery down until the phone dies because I think that is the only way to reset it. the manual methods aren’t working. I have heard the system sound like it resets but doesn’t seem to do anything.  It’s a ATT phone I use and is unlocked on straight talk. I also update my version when it tells me too I don’t know the version. any other suggestions?

Related Problem: Hello i have a samsung galaxy Note 8 that has screen problems. The phone turns on but it has a black screen if i tap the screen i hear a noise (slight peep) the back button and other button on the left lights up when you turn the phone on but that’s it, i heated the back off and removed the battery and then replaced it still nothing everything on the phone works but the screen there is no start up screen (SAMSUNG LOGO) I Know the phone boots up but there is never anything on the screen. Advice please.

Solution: Try doing a soft reset on the phone as this will usually fix the problem. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. The phone should restart after this. In case the screen remains black Then make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge by charging the device for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. Once this is done check if you are able to access the recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then the problem could be caused by a software glitch. You will then need to do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 8 Screen Goes Black When Battery Gets Low

Problem:  Hello, I am having an issue with my galaxy Note 8. The screen goes black after a certain percentage (usually 68-69%) at that point I can’t see my screen. I can still click Icons and such because I can hear it when I click on the screen. Even when I look at pictures, videos, and certain apps. I have factory recent it but it still seems to be doing it. I think it may have something to do with the battery.

Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still occurs then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already. The best thing you can do right now is to have the phone checked at a service center.

Note 8 Screen Is Unresponsive After Software Update

Problem: Good day, I updated my software as SAMSUNG informed me to do so. Its been taking me 2 days now. Going from different shops including the samsung main technician shop here in Phuket in Pang Nga road. They couldn’t help me. My screen is completely unresponsive.  The last shop out of 7 including bangkok, thailand now told me i have to wait for till the end of the month for new software. Seriously, please advise? As the last guy told me he’s got 3 other phones collected today with the same problem? What to do?

Solution: If this issue occurred right after a software update then it could be caused by old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. This old data will usually cause a conflict with the new software version resulting in this problem. To fix this, try starting the phone in recovery mode then from here do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If the issue still persists then this might already be caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to have the phone repaired at a service center.
