Welcome to another installment of our troubleshooting series where we aim to help our readers who own the #Samsung #Galaxy #Note8 fix the issues that they are experiencing with their phone. This model was released last year and sports a large 6.3 inch Super AMOLED display. It is one of the best mobile devices to use for those who perform various productivity tasks while on the go due to its S Pen functionality. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy Note 8 not automatically connecting to Wi-Fi network issue and other related problems.

Note 8 Not Automatically Connecting To Wi-Fi Network
Problem: ok i’m gonna try and not get overly upset with samsung products in the past few weeks…i have been a faithful customer of samsung for at least 10 years i’ve had the note 3 in the past for 5 years great no real issues so thumbs up for Samsung…just purchased the note 8 in may 2018 so far been satisfied with phone..now the problem, my fiance linda has the Note 8 as well which i purchased for her and added her to my Verizon account where i pay bill track my data and any other phone related issues i can look up and track for my past months data use and who is using what whether it be my phone or hers…here is major problem a system update ran on her phone recently..i have a pic of the update …now let me tell you for two thats how long she has been on my account and between the two of us , NEVER have we used my than 4 gig as matter of fact for the past for months we have almost the same every month it’s like i never worry because my history shows and i can print the charts we have , always almost identical usage for both us flat line maybe 1 to 1.5 gig each never ever being warned i’m reaching my warning % set at 2 gig for each of us . i think if i remember from when i checked august 6th or 7th we always had carrier every month nothing on my end and proven by consistent usage for the 2 years that we have shared my plan which is unlimited talk talk and text and 4 gig of data…here is where i believe Samsung comes into severe question ..my charts of data usage after update which correct me please if i’m wrong comes from Samsung..her data went up 5 gig in 5 days because after that update she was unaware that she automatically connecting to our wi fii networks, im not going to by its just a coincidence that update and spike in data usage because she was no longer connecting to WIfi networks and had no reason to check until for some reason because she is setup by me to warned at 2 gig….her phone will no longer auto connect at all…myself i hate when updates are performed on my cell in the past because something ALWAYS CHANGES FOR THE WORST.. when she saw on august 6th that she had used a little over 5 gig since the update ran on her phone and i matched the data charts from my Verizon portal that she spike either sometime or the latest august so the only that had changed during the period prior to her spike was that update….honestly i hope you don’t come back and say if you have a weak network signal that your phone can drop, its WiFi connection i know it can but that is not the case , please i read all the blogs from Samsung home page and from especially the people who own the Note 8 on the internet they are experiencing the same issues …the reason i stand firm in my conviction that the system update is the root reason that affected her phone was that our past history shows identical usage almost every month until now. ..you can tell me all the standard WiFi scenarios that boost data usage on a phone but i can back my conviction with 2 years of stable data usage every month….i had to upgrade to the 8 gig plan from Verizon so that i would exceed data use damage and costs from being substation-ally over my limit…. if it’s not Samsung sending system updates who is…samsung phone , samsung system… so that is why i’m writing to you …i’m blowing money , she is limiting her usage phone because she is going waste more of money because an update her wifi auto connect…that update is the only thing that changed at the same time the data spiked….and it won’t auto connect anymore and i can’t figure out but i know that update is the reason and whoever sends these updates has fix because i already got screwed on your samsung gear s2 watch…but that’s a separate issue..any educated reason for this and or how to fix it would be appreciated,,,,again fine ..for 2 years …consistent data usage …then i call it the virus …the july 31 system update ..
Solution: If the Wi-Fi is not automatically connecting after the software update then this is most likely caused by old software data that has not been completely removed from the phone. The best thing to do right now is to backup your phone data then start the phone in recovery mode. Wipe the cache partition of the phone in this mode then follow this up with a factory reset.
Note 8 Not Connecting To Secure Wi-Fi Connection
Problem: I am trying to log onto a wifi secure network at the college i work at. My phone once i enter my username and password will not even give me the option to click connect the word is grey and not blue how it should be to let me select connect.
Solution: Try checking if this same issue occurs when you connect to other Wi-Fi networks. In case you are able to connect to other networks then the problem is most likely caused by a setting in the secure network of the college. You will need to contact the IT administrator of the network regarding this problem.
