Note 8 Cannot Make Video Calls After Software Update

Problem: I own note 8 and I have very big issue. At first I was able to do video call with others, but after software update I lost this feature and didn’t find any solution on the internet to solve this big issue for me. Please help

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the video call option of the phone is enabled.

  • From a Home screen, tap Phone
  • Tap the Menu icon
  • Tap Settings
  • From the Video calls section, tap the Video Calling switch to turn on

You should be able to make a video call after this. In case the issue persists and since you mentioned that this occurred right after a software update then this is most likely caused by some old software data that has not been completely removed. The best thing to do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Note 8 Freezes And Restarts When Making A Call

Problem: When ever I try to call the phone is freezing and restarting on his own and if somehow I able to call the mic is not working (2) When ever battery is about 25 or % lower phone start restarting and if I charger it the phone it works fine I don’t know what’s the problem sometimes it seems like mic is causing problems sometimes I think the battery is causing problems plz help me I try to update the phone to  but it keeps happening

Solution:  The best thing that you can do right now in this case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already in which case you will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.

Note 8 Cannot Make Calls To Certain Contacts

Problem: I have a new Galaxy Note 8 phone (transferred my contacts from previous galaxy) and am unable to make calls to a few (about 4 of my of my contact numbers.) The phone rings once and CALL ENDED shows on screen. It shows up as missed call on the other party’s phone. All other numbers are fine. I do not have any blocked numbers and I deleted the numbers from contact list and registered them but still same issue. Any ideas? This is a 3 week old phone

Solution: You should try doing a soft reset on your phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Once the phone has started check if the issue still occurs. In case it does then proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then it’s very likely that the problem is caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try clearing the cache and data of the phone app from the application manager then check if the issue still occurs.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.

In case the issue persists then you will have to contact your carrier regarding this problem as this might be a network related issue.

Note 8 Call Can’t Be Heard

Problem: I’m using Samsung note 8.. during phone calls, they can’t hear me unless im on speaker mode or using headset/earpiece.. I cant even use bixby, still needs headset. My microphone works well I’ve tried recording my voice using the handset itself. I’ve tried wiping cache, soft reset, and even factory reset, still it doesn’t work. I bought this phone in Canada when travelling, now there’s no way for me to return this phone back to where i bought it. Their tech support told me to wait for another software update coz maybe they will fix the bug and glitches, i don’t know when will the next update be. Can u help me? I think I got the worst problem of all Note 8 users…

Solution: It’s unlikely that a software update will fix this problem as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
