Note 5 Unable To Get Software Update
Problem: Hello, I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 smartphone, and its current version is 6.0.1, which is what the phone came with when I bought it . The phone itself isn’t that old, but for some reason, I am unable to update it to Nougat. My model number is SAMSUNG N920A It is unlocked and has no SIM card. I go to Settings > About Device > Software Updates. The next screen that appears is AT&T Software Update with two options: “Check for updates” and “Continue update” (only ‘check for updates’ is interactable). I press “Check for updates.” The following screen shows the text “Software update process will not delete any personal data on your phone. Check the AT&T server for new software update?” I press ‘OK’, but then it says that the “Current software is up to date,” even though I’m almost certain that my phone is eligible for the new update. I did some research and some sources say that a SIM card is not required to update over-the-air, but I’m not too certain about it. I also reset the phone to its factory settings, but that still did not solve the problem. If you could please tell me how I can update my phone without rooting it, I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance.
Solution: Sometimes you will be able to update the phone with a SIM installed but sometimes this does not work. If you can get an AT&T SIM then I suggest you insert this in your phone then check if you are able to get the update. You should also try connecting the phone to a computer with Smart Switch installed then do the update using the software.
In case the phone still can’t get the update then you should consider manually flashing the updated firmware file using Odin. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which should also have the instructions on how to flash your phone.
Note 5 Current Software Is Up To Date Error
Problem: Hello, I own an UNLOCKED! AT&T Galaxy Note 5 running Android 6. My carrier now is T Mobile. I cannot upgrade to the latest software version on either carrier’s towers. When I attempt to perform a software upgrade, the next screen says “Your current software version is up to date.” Which it is not. How do I upgrade my unlocked phone? Thank you
Solution: It’s very likely that the unlock procedure done on the phone might have tripped the Knox counter resulting in this issue. Try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset Once the reset is complete check for the update using the OTA method and also by connecting your phone to a computer with Smart Switch installed. If this does not fix the issue then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated stock firmware file. You can download this file from the Sammobile website. The instructions on how to flash your phone are also available in this website.
Note 5 Stuck In Samsung Logo After Software Update
Problem: Hi, my samsung galaxy Note 5 was running on android 7, and i recently got an system update today so i went and downloaded the update (which was about 432 Mb maybe ?) and then i hit “install now” . For some reason it has been stuck at the Samsung logo for more than 2 hours now (The logo is just blipping). The phone is NOT opening ! Please help me to Fix this problem.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
Note 5 Stuck In Kernel Is Not Seandroid Enforcing
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy Note5 model SM920T has stuck on “kernel is not seandroid enforcing” I have been tried since 3 days to update new firmware by researching internet and i got failed. My wedding pictures are in that phone, which i never tried to back up. Please help me to recover my pictures and reset my phone. Thank you in advance.
Solution: This error message usually occurs when the wrong firmware version is installed in the phone. Unfortunately, troubleshooting this problem will erase all of your phone data.
The first thing that you should try is a factory reset from the recovery mode. If the issue still occurs after this then you will need to flash the phone using Odin with its stock firmware file which you can get from the Sammobile website.
