Note 5 Screen Black After Drop

Problem: hey droid guy. my samsung galaxy note 5 dropped on the ground. and from then the screen has turned black. the led light notification and the soft keys do blink, and i am able to receive calls with the help of my earphones, but the screen is completely black. tried all the troubleshooting techniques, but in vain. my phone has fallen quite a few times, but never went blank like this..

Related Problem: so I accidently dropped my phone on its back and now the start up is pixelated and i can only use the left side of the screen the left side light is flashing lightly and I cannot unlock my phone please get back to me as soon as possible

Solution: The drop has most likely damaged the phone display or the display controller. You can try to check if this is the case by starting the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then there’s a possibility that the problem is caused by a software glitch. If this is the case then you will need to do a factory reset in recovery mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data. In case the screen still remains black even in recovery mode then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Not Charging After Getting Wet

Problem: My kitten knocked a drink over my Samsung Note 5. After drying it, it was working fine. But when the charge went off, I went to put it on charge, but the indicator which shows it charging wasn’t flashing, nor did the screen turn on. I am unsure of what I need to do.

Solution: There might be some water present in the charging port of the phone. What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the charging port is dry. If you have a vacuum or a hair dryer then use it to dry this port.  Once the port is dry try charging the phone. In case the issue persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Press and hold both power and volume down buttons of the phone for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge your phone.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Note 5 Screen Is Snowy

Problem: Hi – My Samsung Note 5 all of a sudden, the whole right side of my screen is now snowy. I’ve tried restarting it a few times, and still there, and same thing in Safe Mode. Just now contacted Samsung and they said to mail it in so they can repair, but we’re talking about 2 weeks without the phone. And the nearest service center is over two hours a way. Any help or suggestions before I mail it in?

Solution: Try doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that your phone data will be deleted in the process. If this doesn’t work then you will have to send the phone for repair as this is most likely caused by a defective display assembly.
