J7 Not Waking From Sleep Mode
Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy J7 that I purchased from Walmart a year ago. Within the last few weeks, when I try to bring the phone out of sleep mode by pressing the Power Button, the phone does not respond. It will take several minutes after for the phone to respond. Even if the phone rings, I am unable to answer because the phone will not present a screen. This is intermittent and I am unable to provide any specific time this issue occurs. Please advise if there is a fix for this.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this you will have to start the phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue does not occur in this mode then there’s a possibility that it is caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue still occurs in Safe Mode then I suggest you backup your phone data then do the steps listed below.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone.
- Perform a factory reset.
J7 Turns Off With Charge Left
Problem: Hi, I own a samsung galaxy J7 phone. My phone’ battery keeps on dying at 37%. Have read somewhere that u should charge your phone only when battery reaches 10% or less. I charge my phone at 50- 60% too. Is my battery not working properly. Pls advice… Thanks in advance.
Solution: The best thing that you will need to do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then it’s very likely that the phone battery is already faulty and needs to be replaced. You should bring the phone to a service center and have the phone checked if this is the case.
J7 Downloading Do Not Turn Off Target
Problem: Hello. I have a Galaxy J7 and it has been giving me problems recently. If it turns off or if i restart the device it does turn back on. It shows a screen that is written “downloading do not turn off target” with the android logo. It will not turn on unless i restart several times. Also it can just turn off on its on and on power up it shows the same screen. Please help
Solution: Just like the issue which we have addressed above the best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps yet. Try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already. The best thing that you can do is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J7 Battery Drains Quickly
Problem: I have only had my J7 for 8 wks and already experiencing a problem with the battery, it drains really quickly and the phone feels hot, there are no apps running I’ve checked. I am now having to charge it twice a day. Can anyone help?
Solution: If your phone has a microSD card installed then you should remove it. Once the card is removed start the phone in Safe Mode. This way you can check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it might be caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue persists in Safe Mode then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Do not install any apps in your phone after the reset. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then the phone battery might already be faulty. You will need to have this checked and possibly replaced at a service center.
J7 Is Not Charging
Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy J7 & it’s not charging at all but it still works. I went to a store to have looked at & they place in a new battery, it came on, they told me my phone still works & my battery still works as well, but they told me the only one little thing is wrong is the USB charger port. I missed using my phone, I want to keep my old phone it has good data & tried to save them on my micro SD card. Thank you
Solution: If the charging port of the phone is defective then you will need to have this replaced.
