J7 Not Turning On After Overnight Charging
Problem: Hi there, I could not turn on my Samsung Galaxy J7 in a morning after an overnight charging. I turned off the phone before charging. Before that, I found a couple of times that the battery was only charged to 50~60%, not 90% as I expected. Now it’s dead. I tried different ways to start it using power button, Power + Vol Down, Power + Vol- up + Home, with and without charge cable connected to a power socket, with a different charger, and so on. But I can feel warm phone when it was charged. The phone was very warm even it did not start on that morning so that I put it on ceramic floor in case it would explode! I would like to know whether this is a dead battery problem or some hardware defects.Thank you very much in advance.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to try cleaning the charging port of the phone first using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. Once this is done you should charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port. After the battery has sufficient charge you should check if the phone can turn on.
In case the issue still persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already, possibly by a faulty battery. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J7 Stuck In Spinning Padlock Screen After Software Update
Problem: Received an OTA update today from my carrier. Having 52% battery I said yes to go ahead with the update. I left the phone on the side to do its stuff, knowing it would take 10-15 minutes to complete. When I checked back, I found the device trying to boot up, showing the spinning padlock. I waited the usual couple of minutes, but it just continued spinning. I tried rebooting (power button and volume up), and left it for 3 hours, but it’s still on the spinning padlock! I’ve tried wiping the cache, after booting into recovery mode, but that didn’t help either. Not sure what the issue is, or how to fix it!
Solution: It’s very likely that the problem is caused by a glitch that occurred during the update process. Try starting the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of the device from here. Restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to start the phone in recovery mode again then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
J7 Moisture Detected Error
Problem: Hi! I recently had tried to charge my phone in the car using the car charger, and when i had placed it in, it was almost dead. The moisture detected error came up and I dried my phone out using a hairdryer, along with trying a different charging cable. My phone now will not charge at all, nor give the blue indicator light, but will show the battery charging icon on the screen, and then get slightly brighter then shut off. It has been doing this for about a day and a half now as I am writing this.
Solution: Since you have already made sure that the charging port is already dry the next step that you can do is to try to do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
In case the issue persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J7 Not Charging Not Turning On
Problem: my phone went dead, and when i plugged it in to charge, nothing happened., I finally figured it was the battery, so I got a replacement one, and when i plugged it in to charge, the charge symbol came up, and the charge light came on. then it just went off and quit charging. now the new battery is bad. I didnt drop it in water, but i did drop it on a wood floor, but it didn’t hit hard.
Solution: Have you tried checking if the charging port of the phone is free from any dirt or debris? It’s best to clean this port first using a can of compressed air then use a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.
If the issue persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
