J7 Battery Drains Fast
Problem: Hi my J7 has developed a battery issue, also I think the processor might of been fried. I downloaded a game called “baseball boy” you’ve probably heard of it. I was playing it for about 45 mins straight and my devices screen got hot and so did the back of my device. I’d say it was hotter if I was fast charging the phone. It’s already been back to Samsung twice for the repair, as it’s a contract phone with a 2 year warrant (are they obliged to give me a new phone if they can’t fix the issue whatsoever?) I’ve already been back to my mobile network provider (Three) and they won’t do anything 🙁 I’ve been told twice from 2 different people that Samsung should give me a new phone after the third attempt at repairing my device but Samsung have told me themselves that they don’t give replacement phones. That’s confusing as what am I supposed to do with a phone that’s developing issues? Apps are getting slower to open and the battery lasts less than 24 hours. Any advice or help at this stage would be of great help. Thanks.
Solution: The best thing you can do right now is to check if this problem is caused by a software glitch. You will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Make sure that the phone is fully charged then try to check if the battery will still last for less than 24 hours. In case the issue still persists then it’s likely that the phone will need a battery replacement. You should have the battery checked and replaced at a service center.
J7 Does Not Start After Drop
Problem: My Samsung galaxy J7 fell from me a few weeks ago, no cracks. I tried turning on the phone and it was a failure. The only thing I saw on it is a blue and green LED light at the top. When I plugged in the phone only the name of the phone comes up then few seconds after it’s a black screen then it vibrates twice before the name comes up again.. That’s the only thing that comes up on the phone, it’s name.. I tried doing the recovery thing on it but the screen won’t keep on so it goes away.. What do you think is happening? Do I need a new phone? Thanks in advance…..
Solution: It looks like the drop might have damaged a component inside the phone. To fix this try connecting the phone to its charger and let it charge for at least 20 minutes. Disconnect the phone from its charger then turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. In case the phone still does not turn on then you will need to have this checked at a service center.
J7 Not Turning On After Failed Software Update
Problem: I bought a Samsung J7 from a person on Facebook marketplace. From what he told me, he updated the phone to the newest update last week. So, he told me that as he was doing update battery was low. By the time he gotten to phone few hours later, the phone would not turn back. I bought it figured it would be something simple I could do to fix it. But, I have done everything from hard restart to soft restart, I have done the 10 sec. Battery test. I have also let it charge overnight, but with my charger. It’s not a original Samsung charger. So, that’s pretty much all I know, so I took it to a repair center, all they done was plug it up. Didn’t do anything , and just said it was no good nothing could be done.
Solution: It looks like the phone software has been corrupted due to the interrupted software update. The best thing that you can do right now is to first make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge. Fully charge the phone using a wall charger. In case you don’t see any charging indicator then proceed with the following steps.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
- Use a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.
- Try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
Once the phone has charged check if you can turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. If the phone still does not start then try accessing the recovery mode. From here you will need to wipe the cache partition of the phone then follow this up with a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fail then you should consider flashing the phone with its updated firmware file using Odin. you can get the firmware file as well as the instructions on how to flash your phone from the Sammobile website.
