Note 3 S Pen Losing Sensitivity After Update

Problem: Good evening, I want to ask regarding S Pen on my Note 3. After I update my note to the latest OS, my S Pen lose its sensitivity when using S Note, but it performs like usual in action memo. Why is this happening and what is the solution? I look forward to your assistance.

Solution: If the S Pen lags when using S Note then this might just be a glitch in the phone data. Try restarting your phone first.

  • Turn off phone
  • Take out the battery
  • Press and hold the power button for at least 3 minutes
  • Replace the battery
  • Turn on the phone

Check and see if the S Pen now works normally on S Note. If not then wipe the cache partition of your phone.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  • Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.
  • With ‘reboot system now’ highlighted, press the Power key to restart the device.

Note 3 Not Sending Picture Message After Update

Problem: I have a AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 3 & yesterday it did the System update n now it won’t let me send picture messages i already fixed the APN Settings n nothing.

Solution: If you have made sure that the APN settings are correct then the next thing to do is to check if the phone’s mobile data is switched on. Picture messages are usually sent out using your mobile data connection.

If it is switched on and you still can’t send a picture message then restart your phone. This refreshes your phone connection to the network and usually works in cases like this.

Note 3 Blank Photos/ Notification Light Not Working

Problem: Hey I own a galaxy note 3 and all my pictures under my camera gallery have all went blank.. like they are there but they are all grey, they even appear that way when I try to look at them through att locker. Also I noticed my notification light isn’t working any more.. not when it’s charging or anything.. if you could help me with this, that would be great!! Thank you for your time!!

Solution: Are the photos saved on the internal storage of your phone or on the microSD card? If it is on the internal storage then try to connect your phone to a computer running Kies then backup your photos. Check and see if Kies can open you photos.

If the photos can’t be read then disconnect your phone from the computer then proceed to wiping its cache partition.

If your photos are stored in the microSD card then remove it from your phone and insert it in your computer. Check if your computer can view the photos and if it can then make a backup copy (you can do this by copying the photos to a designated folder in your computer).

Note 3 Does Not Go To Sleep Mode

Problem: My Samsung Note 3 has stopped going into ‘sleep mode’ in that I have to manually hit the power button to turn off the screen. If I shut the phone down completely, it will work for a few times, but then just stays on again.

Solution: Try going to your phone settings and look for the part that says developer options. Make sure that “Stay Awake” is not checked.

If the issue still persists then this may be caused by corrupted data. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone to resolve this.

Note 3 Sound Distortion

Problem: I have a note 3 which plays songs but they sound distorted. The same exact song sounds fine on my laptop. Is this a common problem and what is your recommendations to fix this issue? Please help!

Solution: Are the songs played at full volume on your phone? If they are then you may hear some distortion especially for songs that have a lot of bass.

Try playing the songs at a lower volume and check if they you still hear some distortions. If the issue still occurs then try doing a factory reset. Make sure to back up your data before proceeding.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘delete all user data.’
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to turn the restart the device.

Try to play the affected songs. If the distortion still occurs even at a lower volume then this may already be a hardware related problem.

I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center for checking.

Note 3 Changes Settings Randomly

Problem: My phone has been acting up for a few months now.   It deactivates my master sync along with the auto brightness checkmark and Bluetooth a couple times per day.  I checked settings for sync and I don’t have a schedule of any kind set up.  Sync setting is push and roaming is manual.  I’m at a loss at what other setting or app that I may have installed could be causing this.  If you have any suggestions or know of this issue I would appreciate anything you can tell me to fix this.

Solution: Try to start your phone in Safe Mode and observe if this issue still occurs.

  • Turn the device off.
  • Press and hold the Power
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3′ appears on the screen, release the Power Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • ‘Safe mode’ will display in the bottom left corner of the screen. Release the Volume down key when you see ‘Safe Mode.’

If the issue does not appear in this mode then it is most likely caused by a third party app installed in the phone. You will need to perform a trial and error method in seeking for this app then uninstall it.

Note 3 Not Working With Headphones

Problem: I’m having a problem with using my note 3 with any headphones or something like that and it all started when I was on the bus and the music I was listening to just stopped and I restarted my phone and it didn’t work so I thought it was probably the headsets so I got home and tried it on a computer and it worked perfectly so I tried hooking my phone up to an aux cord and it worked too so now I’m confused on what’s happening to my phone and that is why I’m sending this email since you said if any more problems remain I should send you an email at this address

Solution: Try using another pair of headphones on your phone and see if it works. If it works then try using the original headphones. You should also consider wiping the cache partition of your phone as this may just be caused by a glitch in your phone data.

Note 3 Stylus Issue After Lollipop Update

Problem: As soon as I got the lollipop update, I noticed that when writing notes in S Note only, letters or parts of letters will be missing.  It’s happening a lot but it’s random.  If I write “SCHOOL”, it might come out like “SCH O “,  If I keep writing it over and over different letters will be missing, or maybe parts of a letter like a “t” will be missing the horizontal or vertical line.  Also, standby battery life is better while battery seems to drain more quickly when using the phone.  In fact, when plugged into a regular usb charger, not the USB 3 charger, it is barely able to charge.  While plugged in, if I surf the web battery percentage actually goes down.

Solution: If these issues just occurred right after the Lollipop update then you should consider doing a factory reset. Data from the previous software version may still be present in your device which is causing a conflict with the new software version. A factory reset is the most effective way to take out this old data. Just make sure to back up your phone data before proceeding.

Note 3 No Signal After Changing Charging Port

Problem: Hello I just changed my charging port on my note 3 and now I have no signal. I can pick up my WiFi but no signal to make calls or texts , do you know what I could have done wrong?

Solution: Try checking if your SIM card is properly installed. You should also try to insert another SIM in your phone and see if it works. If it is then there may be some other hardware component that may have been affected when you changed the charging port. Try to retrace the steps you made.

Note 3 Voice To Text/ Typing Issues After Lollipop Update

Problem: I’m have two problems. One I had before, which is that voice to text will print everything twice.  Not always, but most of the time.  I have no idea how to fix that. Second is that swype will often not put spaces between words. It used to, but now often doesn’t. But again, not always.  Two very frustrating problems because they are random. Any help would be appreciated. If this is listed on the website with a fix please sent me a link.

Solution: Have you tried doing a factory reset already? If not then I suggest you do so. Make sure to back up your phone data before proceeding.

  • Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.

Note 3 Front Camera “server error occurred. Restart camera” Error

Problem: Hello, I have a galaxy note 3 that I dropped and broke the screen on (screen only, the lcd is fine). The screen was replaced and then I realized that the rear camera was also broken in the drop. I replaced the rear camera with one I ordered off Amazon and it is working without any issues. However, whenever I try to use the forward facing camera, I’m getting an error of “server error occurred. Restart camera” and then it will shut down and return to the home screen. I’m wondering if the rear and forward facing cameras are connected and I somehow messed it up when I replaced the rear? Any help you could give would be awesome! Thanks.

Solution: The front facing camera is a separate module connected to the motherboard and won’t be affected by the change of the rear camera.

If the error message still occurs then this may be a hardware related problem. You should consider replacing the front camera module.

Note 3 S Pen Not Working After Lollipop Update

Problem: Hi, I updated to Lollipop about 12 hours ago (which I absolutely love) on AT&T Note 3 , and I’ve been trying to figure out what’s going on with my s-pen and air command… I cannot take a screenshot or access the air command options by holding the pen onto the screen while holding the button. I’ve tried everything down to the factory reset… still no luck. Please help, and thanks!

Solution: Try checking on the S Pen settings of your phone first and see if they are correct.

Go to Settings – Controls – S Pen then configure the settings listed below.

  • Turn off pen detection: When enabled, pen detection is turned off when the pen is attached to the phone (inserted). This can extend battery life.
  • S Pen keeper: sounds an alert and shows a pop-up message if you move the phone away from the pen without attaching the pen to the phone.
  • Pointer: When enabled, a pointer displays on the screen when you hover S Pen over the screen.
  • Direct pen input: When turned On, the phone will automatically display the handwriting pad in the text input area when it detects the S Pen.
  • Pen detachment options: Choose an option to automatically display when you detach the S Pen from the phone.
  • Pen attach/detach sound: Choose a sound to be played when the pen is attached or detached.

If the settings are all correct then you should try using another S Pen on your phone. If the problem still persists then this may already be hardware related. You should bring your phone to an authorized service center for checking.

Note 3 Play Store Opens On Its Own

Problem: I am having trouble with my Galaxy Note 3. When ever I open an app or try to send a message or phone call, the playstore opens it self up to a game to purchase etc. I then have to close the app store in order to text or make a call. I didn’t have this problem until it updated it self some time ago. I’m not sure how to make this action stop. I did download McAfee Security to help me with any hakers etc. I’m hoping you can help me with this issue.

Solution: This is most likely caused by a third party app installed in your phone. To verify if this really is the case try to start your phone in Safe Mode as this will disable third party apps.

If the issue does not occur in this mode then it’s most likely caused by an app. Find out what that app is and uninstall it.

If you are still directed to the Google Play Store in this mode then it’s best to do a factory reset. Just make sure you back up your phone data before proceeding.

Note 3 Getting Warning Message

Problem: Hello, Hopefully you can help me. The last 2 days I would be on my note 3 and my phone will buzz with a pop up notification ‘warning’ when I close it it goes to another Web page telling me I had 3 swipe errors and need to download something or my phone will crash. I wish I took a screen shot. Wondering if anyone else got this and sent it in to you. If I am Able to I will get a screen shot of it. Do you have any idea if android has even issued something like this? It has never happened before. Also when I go to check my software updates it says I am a up to date but below the check for updates option, in grey it says continue update. When I press it nothing happens. This is all strange… maybe a virus… not sure… help!

Solution: This issue is caused by third party app installed in your phone (most likely a free app). Try to remember what app you installed prior to this issue occurring and uninstall it.

Note 3 Forgotten Password

Problem: Sup Dude .. I have an issue my friends note 3 . She changed her password from pattern to password. But now she forgot the password and we can’t unlock it . And there’s no forgot password option popping up ! It’s weird. I don’t want to do a hard reset on recovery because she will lose all her data. Pics and stuff. What’s the best solution  here ???

Solution: Just let her enter the password a couple of times until she will be asked to enter her Google account password. From there the password can be reset. For this to work make sure that the phone is connected to the Internet.

Note 3 Not Installing Apps

Problem: My phone will not install apps any more. When I go to the play store and try to install it just keep saying installing but never installs. Thanks for any help.

Solution: Make sure that your phone is connected to a stable Internet connection. If possible try to download the app using a different Wi-Fi source.

If the problem persists then restart your phone and try again.

You should also consider wiping the cache partition of your phone as this issue may be caused by a corrupt data.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.

Note 3 Lags/ Calls Go To Voicemail

Problem: Firstly …. love your website and emails (Drips) coming through each day. I have a Samsung Galaxy note 3 mobile.  I love it too  pieces!!!   My eyes are not as good and so the size is perfect.

  • I have noticed lately it seems to be lagging when opening an app.
  • I’ve also had a few people tell me they are not getting my txts!!!!!!
  • my phone most times goes to voice-mail even though I am sitting right beside it. We don’t have overly good reception so maybe this is part of it.
  • I had a beautiful ring tone and about 6- 8 my ring tines just changed overnight! !!
  • I am thinking there has been some updates. I am ok with my phone – certainly not a Wizz with technology but at least I can manage my phone quite well. .. much better than my husband! !

I have had an iPhone but find I love Android phones more … in particular my Note 3. I have thought about doing a reset but  don’t want to lose what I have on my phone.  I know I can back up but that doesn’t seem to work the best for me. The best feature with the iPhone was that it synced photos so easily whereas I find the process a little more tedious.  It works but not as well. I have tried to reboot but nothing changes. Could it be an upgrade that has changed my phone slightly?  Thank you fit taking time to read my email …

Solution: If you recently upgraded to Android Lollipop then chances are this may be the cause of the issues. Normally, you would have to do a factory reset to get rid of this issues. However, since you are not comfortable in doing this then I suggest wiping the cache partition of your phone which is the second best thing to do in cases like this.

If the issues persists after this then you should definitely consider doing a factory reset.

Note 3 eBay App Not Working After Lollipop Update

Problem: Hello. I recently downloaded the lollipop update for my Note 3 and ever since then I’ve been having problems with the Ebay app. I’ll open the app and begin browsing and all of a sudden I get a “Network not found” message at the top of the screen. I’ve restarted the phone but that hasn’t solved the issue. I am able to use all my other apps or functions that rely on the use of a network when this happens so I’m uncertain as to why it is only affecting me when using the Ebay app.  Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Solution: Try to clear the cache and data of the eBay app then uninstall it.

  • From the Home screen, tap the Apps
  • Choose Settings, and tap General
  • Scroll down to Device manager section and tap Application manager.
  • Scroll to the right to display contents of ALL
  • Scroll down to find the eBay app and tap on it.
  • Tap the Clear Cache
  • Tap the Clear Data
  • Tap uninstall

Once the app has been uninstalled go to the Google Play Store then install it again from there. The app should be working after this.

  3. S pen suddenly would not work in the lower half of screen on Notes or would not function on Suduko
Problem ! Solved Had purchased an Ogden Sparkle leather case for the Note 3 The magnet within the case causes the problem. remove the case and reset the phone and all is well again fully functional.

  4. i have samsung galaxy note 3, and facing trouble i just lost my contacts then i used contact data recovery software, after that my back arrow key is not working by finger use, while it is working only with pen tool, and left menu button is also not working properly, if i my clicking by finger then it take “s finder” function instead dropdoqn menu, and if i am ise it with pen tool then it is working correctly as back arrow key, so kindly help me to fix it, even i have done restore with press volume key, home button and power button after i deleted data and reboot, but still same problem,
