J5 Touchscreen Unresponsive After Getting Wet

Problem: Hi, I got my samsung J5  2017 drenched in the rain today. At that time, I was walking beneath the heavy rain while looking up at my google map in my J5  2017. The touchscreen was okay ( I still could use my touchscreen at that time). I walked around 5 minutes under the rain. Once I reached home, I did not immediately dried my phone, I left it around 5 minutes ( to have a quick shower ). Later on, I figured out that my phone sound was too low ( seems like it is being blocked by water ), and I could not use my touchscreen. After taking out the phone from the softcase, I dried it up using tissue paper, and the sound was back to normal, while other physical keys ( home button, menu button, volume button, and back button are all okay ). Now, my touchscreen is still not responsive, only all physical buttons are working fine. Please help me,.. I really need solution, since I am in need of getting interview by phone. Thank you so much. PS : My phone is now in the rice bag, for around 2 hours, still the touchscreen is not working

Related Problem: I am having some troubles with my phones screen after dropping it on the floor then later dropping it in water. I dropped it on the floor when walking from a neighbor’s house which caused to crack on the left and right side of my phone. It still worked perfectly fine, but it wasn’t until it got sprayed with water that the top of my screen stopped working. Are there any solutions to suggest with having to repair my screen or get a new phone?

Solution: Because the phone got wet and it doesn’t have any water resistance features then it’s very likely that water has entered the phone and has affected the way the touchscreen works. What you will want to do right now is to make sure that the phone is free from any liquid or water by turning it off then placing it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture inside the phone. Once this is done try checking if the issue still occurs. If it does then the phone might already be water damaged in which case you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J5 Replacement Screen Is Unresponsive

Problem: HI, i had my screen replaced because i dropped it and the screen just wouldn’t turn on or respond to the touch, i now have replaced it, but every now and again if i press too hard on the screen, it will go black and won’t turn on at all, now i have a problem where the LCD screen isn’t even lit up anymore, the phone works but the screen is unresponsive.

Solution: It’s either the screen is not original and has a different dimension thus causing it to go black when it is pressed hard or the replacement screen itself is faulty. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. It’s also best if you have the display assembly replaced.

J5 Screen Flashes Black After Software Update

Problem: I recently updated J5, which updated me to android 7 and changed the whole os appearance. However, now my phone screen flashes black, only for a few a second or two, then comes back to normal. The screen is still responsive during its back out, and the bar at the very top (containing time, battery etc) and bar at the bottom (with the buttons) are still visible. It seems to occur more often when I am doing many tasks. I assume it has to do something with the software, do you recommend I just factory reset it? Thank you.

Solution: The problem is most likely caused by old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. This old data has a tendency of causing a conflict with the new software version resulting in this issue. The best thing to do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

J5 Screen Becomes Black When Connected To Charger

Problem: I keep getting the black screen of death but it is strictly related to when the charger is connected. Sometimes it comes back on its own, other times it requires a reset. I have already gone through all my app and everything is up to date as well i removed any new app installed around when the issue started happening

Solution: The first thing you need to do is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Once this is done try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone then check if the issue still occurs. This way you can check if the problem is caused by the charger that you are using. In case the issue still persists then you need to have this checked at a service center ad this could already be a hardware related problem.
