Galaxy A5 Battery Drains Quickly

Problem: Samsung Galaxy A5 is not holding a charge. I let the phone completely run down and then I charge it to 100% and after a couple of hours I need to charge it again and then when I charge it the phone tells me that I have 30% or 45% etc .  so it is telling me that I need to charge it when it hasn’t run out. Can you advise what to do to fix the problem. Thanks

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to check if the problem is caused by an app you downloaded. To do this start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the battery still drains rapidly in this mode. If it doesn’t then it’s likely that an app is causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then proceed with a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete remove the microSD card of your phone ( if you have one installed) then check if the problem still occurs. If it does then it’s likely that your phone will need a battery replacement. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.

Galaxy A5 Battery Not Completely Charging

Problem: Samsung A5 stopped charging after moving. I thought maybe it’s the power in my place. But other things charge. I tried the original charger in my kindle it did not work to do that. I threw it out. I brought a new genuine Samsung charger. It worked. I have been here since April 2018. Anyway I woke up yesterday and my phone had only charged to 68% overnight. All day yesterday I tried to solve this. I looked around the internet. I did a hard reset. Yet it would not charge too much. By the time I went to bed, I had managed to get it to 55% No more. I woke to a battery of 90%. Samsung and the company I have contacted both want me to send the original charger In, but that stopped working in April. My battery is always warm. I don’t think I can afford to have it checked.

Solution: If the issue still occurs even after performing a factory reset then this is most likely caused by a faulty battery already. I recommend that you have the battery of your phone checked and possibly replaced at a service center.

Galaxy A5 Randomly Turns Off

Problem: Samsung Galaxy A5 would randomly turn off, go to a black screen when I attempt to open a app. In order to get it to open, I would have to do a soft reset.  The apps would lag/freeze during use. The home button and power button are slow to respond may not respond at all. I have done a manual factory reset, but the issue still persists. I have also had the battery replaced, no changes. I can’t tell if this is a software or hardware issue. I have downloaded a anti-virus through ATT to scan for viruses etc. results show none. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Solution: If a factory reset and battery replacement does not fix the problem then this is most likely caused by a component in the motherboard that is not working properly. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Galaxy A5 Battery Charges Slowly Drains Quickly

Problem: My phone’s battery reading seems incorrect. My phone charges extremely slow and dies extremely fast. For example. it would say 90% and few mins later it drops to like 40% without doing anything! There are times when the battery charges rapidly as i am using the phone and drains fast when i put it to sleep. i have tried everything and even sent it to Samsung for repair and no luck. In fact it made my phone worst and their customer service is not acceptable. This phone is only 2 months old and i purchased it brand new  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Solution: The best thing that you can do in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it is removed. Once this is done charge the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also consider doing a factory reset in case the issue persists. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as it looks like a faulty battery is causing the problem.
