Galaxy A3 Sound Notifications Not Working After Software Update
Problem: I noticed the notification didn’t work after the last software update. I have the A3 and there are no sounds and notification on the home screen to let me know there’s a message waiting. Though I have the notification, sound and vibrate on only the vibrate works. I tried to get to the battery but I cannot. Even Youtube looks difficult. Your directions say to remove the battery cover but I do not see anything like that. Could I just go to setting and just press reset? I also have Android 8.0
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to make sure that the sound settings of the phone are set properly.
- From the home screen, tap and drag the Notifications bar downwards.
- Tap the Settings icon.
- Scroll to, then tap Sound.
- To change the volume of incoming calls, media, system and notifications, tap Volume.
- To change the ringtone, tap Ringtones.
- To change the notification sound, tap Notifications.
- To enable or disable other system sounds, scroll down to the required section.
If the sound settings are correct yet the issue persists then this is most likely caused by old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. This old data will usually cause a conflict with the new software version resulting in this type of problem. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Related Problem: I own a Samsung Galaxy A3. Recently, ‘My Files’ has started lagging, taking a hell lot of time to respond. ‘My Files is not responding’ message shows up. Tried resetting the factory settings but of no help. The camera too hangs up sometimes. Please help.
Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is caused by a software glitch. To fix this problem you should follow the troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing a step immediately check if the issue still occurs and if it does then proceed to the next step.
- Remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed. If this card has corrupt sectors then it could be causing the problem.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Galaxy A3 IM App Cannot Access Photo Gallery
Problem: Ever since my A3 updated a few weeks ago, Instant Messenger can’t access my gallery to send photos. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the IM App. I have gone into settings and made sure the IM App has the permissions needed. I was on your page and read instructions on clearing the cache, and did that. Still not working. What else can I try?
Solution: Make sure that you have the latest version of the IM App downloaded from the Google Play Store. Uninstall the IM App from your phone then install a fresh version. The first time that you use this app you will be getting a window which asks for permission for the app to access your photo gallery. Make sure that you give this app the necessary permission.
