S7 Edge Stuck On Black Screen With Blue LED Light On

Problem: Last night woke to the sound of my phone buzzing on the nightstand. Kept power cycling and displaying the galaxy s7 plus (or edge not sure which) logo, then black screen, then logo again. This went on endlessly. At first I was able to access boot menu by holding the power and vol buttons, got it on the boot screen so it stopped buzzing and left it until morning when I was going to take it to a store. Woke up to the screen being completely black with the blue led on. Completely unresponsive, will not turn on and no combination of buttons will bring up a screen. So now it is stuck “on” with a black screen… is there a way I can do another manual reset, possibly with a pinhole?  Please let me know this is killing me!

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to remove the microSD card of the phone if one is installed then perform a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If the issue persists then proceed with the additional steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
  • Try turning on the phone.

In case the issue persists then you should bring this to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge With Damaged Screen Accessing Encrypted Data In microSD

Problem: Hello team, Thanks a lot for your service. My issue is that I had a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, I was fine with it after around 1 and a half year after buying it, the screen stopped working and the prize to fix it was not such a big deal, so I ended up buying a Samsung Galaxy S8. The problem is that I have a SD card which was encrypted with the previous cell phone, and now I cannot open the files on it, I can see them, but cannot open them at all with my computer neither with my new cellphone. So, I was wondering what options I have, if my old phone does not have a screen but the SD card was encrypted by it. Thanks a lot in advance and regards…

Solution: Unfortunately, because of the secure nature of the encryption process, the data stored in the microSD card can only be decrypted using the phone which performed the encryption. If you want to retrieve the data stored in the card then I suggest that you have the damaged display fixed first.

S7 Edge With Damaged Screen Not Turning On

Problem: Hi there, I have an issue with my Samsung S7 Edge. I have had this for a year and a half now, and about 6 months ago, I had physical damage occur to the phone. So the phone screen and back glass has some damage, but it has also been functioning as normal. Also the power button is damaged and left pressed in. So to turn on the phone for the past few months, I have been using both the Home button down and Volume button down and it has been turning on no issues. My phone has never heated up, up until last night while charging and it heated up and crashed this morning. It is not turning on, and charges up until 50% and then stops charging and heats up. I am unable to use any of the resets as well.

Solution: This appears to be a hardware related problem already caused by a faulty phone component. Since your phone heats up when you charge it then I suggest that you disconnect it from the charger so that it won’t heat up further. The best thing to do right now is to have this checked at a service center.

S7 Edge Screen Flashes White

Problem: Occasionally my Galaxy s7 edge screen flashes white for a second, as if an app is opening up and then returns back to normal. And right before it turns back to normal it shows a small message near the bottom of the screen type = wakeup off. This is getting annoying, especially when watching videos as it pauses the video when this happens.

Solution: Try checking if the wave to wake up feature of the phone is activated as this could be causing the issue.

  • Go Settings then tap the Accessibility settings
  • Tap to open the Dexterity and Interaction settings
  • Touch the Easy Screen Turn On option and make sure it is toggled OFF

In case the issue still persists then perform the additional steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
