J3 Not Turning On After Charging
Problem: hello I am having troubles with my Samsung galaxy j3. I plugged my phone in one night to charge woke up in the middle of the night to a black screen and my phone screen wouldn’t turn on but it was charged because my volume buttons would turn the sound up and down. my phone screen will flash and sometimes stay on a little bit but I have to rotate by pressing my power key and the home button several times to get it to flash. it almost seems like there isn’t enough power going to the screen or something. if I plug it in a charger and pull the cord in and out a few times sometimes it makes my screen pop up. how can I fix this issue?
Solution: What you will want to do first in this particular case is to remove the battery of the phone then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert the battery after this then turn on the phone. If you have the 2017 model of this phone which does not have a removable battery then you should press and hold the power button and volume button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
In case the issue persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port gets removed.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes. If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
- Turn on the phone.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be a hardware related problem. Try replacing the battery of the phone if you have the model with the removable battery. If this doesn’t work then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J3 Unfortunately The Process Com.Android.Phone Has Stopped
Problem: I Can’t do anything on my Samsung J3. There is a message that says Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped. phone messages still come in, text messages still come in but I can’t answer anything. Really annoying as the phone is just 2 months old. OH and I there are tons of advertisements!!! WTF never had that with my iPhone. So sad that I switched.
Solution: The issue that you are facing is most likely caused by a software glitch which can be fixed by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Try clearing the cache and data of the phone app from the application manager
- Try clearing the cache and data of the SIM toolkit from the application manager.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
In case the issue still persists and since your phone is getting lots of advertisements then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
J3 Screen Does Not Turn On
Problem: Dear Droid Guy, My Samsung j3 6 recently started not having the screen turn on. When I plug it in to charge, it beeps, and I can receive calls and texts but I cannot access anything and the screen remains blank. I tried removing the sim card and the battery but it isn’t fixing anything. Is there anything I can do? Thanks!
Solution: You need to check if the screen still remains black when the phone is started in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then you should perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. In case the screen is still black even in recovery mode then there’s a possibility that the display is faulty or has a loose connection to the motherboard. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
J3 Mobile Data Not Working
Problem: I bought a Samsung j3 for my daughter and she is unable to use any mobile data. The only way she can get on Google chrome or the play store is by using Wi-Fi. The mobile data is selected through settings >data. Also unable to download MMS. The phone has been on since August 21 and since that day she has not been able to use any data or receive any pictures or mms. I did a factory reset for network settings. She has straight talk 8gb plan. Please assist thank you
Solution: If the account has an active mobile data subscription then the most likely reason why the phone can’t connect to the mobile data network is because it does not have the correct APN settings. Go to the APN settings of the phone then make sure that it is set to the Straight Talk APN settings.

J3 Google App Turns On Automatically
Problem: I haven’t had the samsung galaxy j3 for long it’s about 11 months old, it was fine until I update it to Lollipop now the okay google app turns itself on no matter what I’m doing. Also when I ask for the weather forecast for my area it doesn’t have a clue what I’m on about, ie if I ask okay google if I’ll need an umbrella today it takes me to an umbrella company. Hope you can help me, many thanks in advance
Solution: This issue appears to be caused by a software glitch. The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete immediately check if the Google App still turns itself on automatically.
J3 Can’t Remember Google Account After Factory Reset
Problem: Did a hard reset on my boyfriend’s phone.. ( he was having issues. Phone was slow etc.) I cannot get past the Google verification. Of course he forgot his email password. I also cannot connect to wifi. App. It says something like unauthorized removal of app or something like that. Also google mail said his gmail address is not valid now!! Please help . Thanks for your time
Solution: The best way to gain access to the phone is to login using the last Google account used on the device. In case the email password has been forgotten then this can be easily reset by going to https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery. Once you have changed the password you need to wait for 24 hours before you can sign back to the device.
In case you are unable to access the phone then you should search over at Google the several methods to bypass the factory reset protection of your phone. Some methods may not work while others will work so it’s best to try them out on your phone.
J3 Samsung Keyboard Has Stopped Working
Problem: The phone comes on, but says that the Samsung keyboard has stopped working. We have taken the battery out for several minutes and it still doesn’t work.
Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to clear the cache and data of the Samsung keyboard app from the application manager. In case the issue persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Check if the problem occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
