S7 Edge Emergency Calls Only Error

Problem: hi guys, I have a problem with my Samsung galaxy s7 edge. Have full signal, mobile data works but still got “emergency calls only”. I tried factory reset, hard reset, cache wipe, changed from 4g/3g to only 2G and doesn’t work. I don’t know what I have to do. I tried flash fw with odin but doesn’t works, still write !FAIL

Solution: Have you tried replacing the SIM card of the phone? If the SIM card is faulty then this problem could occur. In case the issue persists even with another SIM card inserted in your phone then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

S7 Edge Randomly Not Receiving Incoming Calls Or Texts

Problem: My phone has started this issue where it will go all day with no incoming calls or texts and then if I make a phone call, suddenly there will be several texts, missed calls, and voicemails. People tell me later that it just goes directly to voicemail when they call. This has started happening more frequently. The phone is a Verizon phone but I use it on Straight talk. I can’t take the battery out as you mentioned trying. It’s not on Airplane mode and I’ve checked for software updates, etc. It also won’t work on any preferred network besides Global, the service disappears if I try to switch to LTE/CDMA. And the very opening screen (where I have to put my thumbprint for security lock) often says searching for service (at the top left corner) instead of the usual Verizon Wireless, yet the phone still appears to be working. Please let me know if you’ve came across this problem before and what I might be able to do about it (without having to buy a new phone!) Thank you for any help!

Solution: If this is a Verizon phone which you are using on Straight Talk then the issue is caused by the phone not getting a 4G signal. This is the only network band where the phone will work on Straight Talk and if you are in an area where the 4G signal is spotty then this issue will usually occur.

You can however troubleshoot this issue by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the issue persists after the reset then this is most likely a signal related problem.

S7 Edge Not Receiving Text Message From Specific Contacts

Problem: I have a s7 edge. And I have had 2 Sprint numbers that cannot text me. I’m with T-Mobile. At first the 2 numbers could not call or text unless they blocked their number and called private and they would receive my text but couldn’t reply. Well now they are able to call without calling private but still cannot text me. I do not have them blocked, did a soft, then factory reset. Deleted the 2 contacts then re-added. I’ve added them to block list and removed them. I even received a new device had T-Mobile to send a reset from their end. Still cannot receive texts from those 2 contacts. At Wits end. T-Mobile is saying problem is with Sprint however other Sprint contacts I have there is no problem.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to try inserting another SIM card in your phone then check if the issue occurs. If it doesn’t then the problem could be with the SIM card you are using in which case you need to replace this with a new one.

S7 Edge Unable To Receive Network Signal

Problem: My phone is frequently unable to receive a signal from the t-mobile network. I wondered if I have a wrong setting or if the mophie battery backup case could be causing the problem. Or is it more likely the network?

Solution: Try removing the battery case from your phone then check if you are able to receive a signal. You should also toggle the airplane mode of your phone as sometimes this will fix the problem.

In case your phone is still unable to get a network signal then proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Check if the issue occurs when you are in a different area.
  • Turn off the phone then remove the SIM card. Reinsert the SIM card after a few seconds then turn on the phone.
  • Make sure to check the network mode setting of the phone. Set it to LTE/3G/2G (auto connect).
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should have this checked at a service center.
