S6 Display Not Working After Getting Wet

Problem: I was walking in the rain yesterday for about 30 minutes but my phone was in my pocket and I got drenched. When I took it out it seemed like everything was working except for the display so I put it in rice overnight and checked on it this morning but it was completely unresponsive. I took out the sim card and checked for the color change but I didn’t see anything. I haven’t tried to charge it yet.

Solution: If your phone got wet then the best thing that you can do is to wipe its exterior with a cloth making sure that it gets dry. Remove the SIM card from the device then place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done try turning on the phone. If it doesn’t turn on then try charging it first by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port gets removed.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its original charger.

After charging the phone check if it is able to turn on. If the issue persists then the phone might already be water damaged. You will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Not Fast Charging

Problem: Charging was not working at all. Factory formatted the phone and deleted everything. Fast charging started working. Again after 2 days fast charging is not working. At least normal charging is working. I cannot take the pain to delete everything again. Already tried by 3 brand new fast chargers, still the same issue. Kindly help me with the issue of starting the fast charging.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air as sometimes dirt or debris stuck in this port can cause this particular problem. Once the port is clean try charging the phone using a different charging cord. You should also try using a different wall charger preferably one with at least 2.0A of output.

In case the issue persists try to start the phone in Safe Mode then check the fast charging status of the device in this mode. If the problem does not occur then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Gets Hot When Charging Does Not Turn On

Problem: Hi droid guy.I charged my S6 in my car after a completely drained use. The phone had been dead for over a week. The phone charged and came on when I switched it on, after about 15 mins, I noticed it was off again, tried switching it on but it’s been unresponsive to everything since then. I’ve tried a soft reset, tried a safe boot, four button press, three button press, everything and no response. Whenever I try charging after that, it just gets hot but doesn’t show any sign of charging.

Solution: A phone that gets hot when charging could mean that the battery is faulty. This is a potentially dangerous issue as it might damage the device. The best troubleshooting step that you can do right now is to make sure that the charging port of the phone is clear of any dirt or debris by cleaning it with a charging port. Next, try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. When you turn on the phone do so by pressing the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Replacement Screen Has Purple Dots

Problem: Hi there. I’ve had my s6 for about 6 months and it’s been so sturdy and survived my clumsy self until I dropped it at a weird angle onto tiles and broke the LCD. Had the LCD replaced and it was working fine but literally 7 days later the screen developed purple dots and bled out. I was told this happened due to further trauma to the phone (e.g dropping it or pressure) which it don’t believe it experienced (I mean I spent 250 bucks fixing it…so i was being really careful in those 7 days). Qu is: do you think the s6 is more susceptible to a broken LCD once the original is replaced or do you think it was a faulty installation?

Solution: The purple dots on the screen will usually appear if the phone had been dropped or if a certain amount of pressure has been applied on the display causing it to become damaged. Since you mentioned that you haven’t dropped the phone ever since the replacement screen was installed then there’s a possibility that this replacement screen is faulty. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Screen Not Turning On Blue LED Light Active

Problem: Hi, My phone recently stopped working for no reason. I was using it, put it down beside me and when I picked it back up it wasn’t working. The screen wouldn’t come on and there was just the blue light at the top. Every time I try to power the phone on a white line from top to bottom left flashes for a split second and then disappears. No button combinations have helped me fix this issue and I don’t know if I should just bring it to a store.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. In case the issue persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Turn on the phone.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Has Lines On Screen After Getting Wet

Problem: Water poured on my so and I kept it in rice for almost 2 weeks,it wasn’t charging before but now it’s charging. My screen is the problem now,any time I turn the screen now a green light covers it before my wallpaper shows. Also the screen doesn’t stay still lot’s of lines shows making it difficult to use, like playing a damage cd (scratches).

Solution: Unfortunately in this case it appears that the display has been water damaged already. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 No Internet Connection

Problem: Hello, I’m a volunteer at a LHC order. The nuns there are often receiving donations from various sources. So they have an Samsung S6 that we don’t know who sent in to ask for password to unlock the phone. The phone has no SIM card and appears to be using T-mobile service. I followed instruction to hard reset the phone to the manufacture setting. When I restart the phone, it goes back to the initial setting screen which asks me to connect to the internet for verification. I get it connected to my router but it still says no internet connection although all my other devices have no problem connecting to the internet. What else can I do to fix this? Thanks

Solution: You should try connecting the phone to a different Wi-Fi network then check if the Internet works. If it doesn’t and since this issue occured right after a factory reset then this could already be a hardware related problem. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
