S7 Edge Intermittent 4G Signal
Problem: Hello I’m having problems with my Samsung Galaxy s7 edge. I have a contract with AT&T, the bill is always paid on time. My cell phone will have full signal but the 4g service will change from having it and not have 4g and have full bars at the same time. How can I fix this problem?
Solution: What you should do first in this particular case is to check if the problem is caused by some coverage issue. Does the problem occur in any particular area? Is there an area where the problem does not occur. If you notice that the issue occurs in one particular area then that area might have a weak 4G.
It’s also best to check the network coverage by comparing the signal of your phone to another phone on the same network.
In case the problem is not caused by the network coverage then try to perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Does your phone have a metal case installed? If it does then ty removing this as this could be affecting the antenna performance of the phone.
- To check if the issue is caused by a software glitch you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Mutes First 10 Seconds Of Call
Problem: When I answer or place a call, the first 5-10 seconds is soundless but connected. The person can not hear me answer nor can I hear them. Also, while in a call, I sometimes get a very loud feedback noise that is very painful and random when it happens. It can last for several seconds as well. I thought it may have been water damage but my replacement phone does the same.
Solution: What you should do first in this case is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this you have to start your phone in Safe Mode since only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run while the phone is in this mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it’s very likely caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then you will have to backup your phone data and do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Not Reading SIM Card After Screen Replacement
Problem: After getting my screen replaced and fixed my phone will no longer read the Sim card. I even tried a brand new sim card and still no luck. The plan is to take my phone in tomorrow aND have the company fix my phone but I’m afraid they Witmer be able to fix it without once again ruining my display that they had to order in (which took 2 weeks to get there in the first place). Is there anyway to know if the problem is internal or not? Or is there anything I can do to try to fix it?
Solution: Since you already tried using a new SIM card in your phone which doesn’t work then the problem is most likely caused by the SIM card reader module probably not connected back to the motherboard. The best way to fix this is to bring your phone back to the service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Incoming Calls Have + Sign In Number
Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and just switched from Verizon to AT&T. Phone works great, got mms and LTE working as well. But having a weird issue. All incoming calls even domestic ones, have a plus sign in the beginning, because of which it doesn’t recognize contact’s name. Very annoying. Would be very helpful if you can provide a resolution.
Solution: Several people who have a Verizon phone and have switched this to the AT&T network seems to be having this common problem. This seems to be caused by the phone software since both Verizon and AT&T have different software versions for the S7 Edge. You can try flashing your phone using Odin with another stock firmware to fix this problem. You can download the firmware from the Sammobile website which should also have the instructions on how to flash your phone.
If flashing is not an option then you can try using an app from the Google Play Store called Prefixer to fix the problem.
S7 Edge Can’t Call Specific Number
Problem: Hi everything works fine except i cannot call my son on his mobile. I haven’t blocked him and he hasn’t blocked me yet i cannot call him even when we’re in the same room. I simply get a single tone and it cuts off. But i can text him. He doesn’t get a missed call or anything. I’ve cleared my cache….reset network…..called the provider who can help. Can you help please?
Solution: Are both your phones on the same network? If your son is on a different network then there might be some interconnection issues between the networks as of the moment.
If both of you are on the same network then try calling another number just to verify if you can call out. If you are able to call another number then the problem might be with your son’s phone.
Have him check the call settings of his phone ( check if he has blocked any number, has call forwarding activated, etc.). If the call settings in his phone does not seem to be causing the problem then have him try to do a factory reset on his phone. Make sure that he backs up his phone data before doing the reset.
S7 Edge Bluetooth Activates During Call
Problem: Hi, I have an irritating problem with my phone which is also intermittent. Sometimes, if I try to make a call or even answer a call I find the Bluetooth symbol on the contact page is activated which stops me hearing the caller or being heard by the caller. My supplier had me do a network reset which seemed to work for a while but it has started happening again. For the longest time I had no idea what was causing the connection problem when calling until one day I happened to notice that the Bluetooth symbol was lit green; when I turned it off I was able to be heard and of course hear the caller. Have you experienced this problem before? Do you know why it may be turning itself on like that? Most of the time I use the hands-free option so I know I am not accidentally touching the button. Any suggestions (I have already performed the ‘clear cache procedure you mentioned) I hope to hear from you soon.
Solution: It’s possible that the problem is caused by an app you downloaded. To check if this is the case you should start your phone in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S7 Edge Needs To be Restarted to Receive Calls
Problem: In-spite of full network call from another phone to my phone does not get connected. I have to restart phone every time for receiving calls. I tried using the same sim card in other phone it worked fine but when inserted in S7 Edge same issue still persists. Please guide me to get rid of this frequent problem.
Solution: If the issue disappears when you restart your phone then it’s possible that the problem is caused by some form of software glitch. I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset to fix this problem.
