Note 3 Screen Went Blank While On Facebook

Problem: My screen went completely black while I was watching Facebook. Everything is working except for the screen. I am receiving mails, messages and calls. If I connect it to my PC I can draw my pattern by guessing the position of the dots and it gets unlock. When I press the power button there are some areas on the screen blinking green and yellow lines. I canā€™t get to the safe mode for reboot because I canā€™t see anything on the screen, since i turn it on is all black. No Samsung logo or anything. Iā€™ve tried everything with the battery, the charger, the SIM and canĀ“t make it workā€¦ I see on the web that there are a lot of people with the same problem so I donā€™t think itā€™s a hardware problemā€¦ Can you help me?

Solution: Try taking out the battery of your phone as well as the microSD if your phone has one installed. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute then reinsert the battery. This totally discharges your phone which also deletes any residual memory in the RAM. Turn on your phone and check if the display issue gets resolved.

If you are still getting a blank screen but your phone can still get calls and messages then this may be a problem with the LCD. Bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

Note 3 Hangs And Apps Crashes

Problem: Hello sir.i have note 3 from previous 2 months…phone is not not running smoothly it hangs and crash apps…it was fast at beginning but now hangs in game play and other use…i mean from hang is that its not running smoothly. ..but play and stop like slower pc .

Solution: One of the main causes of this is that your phone has accumulated a lot of cached data. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone and see if this resolves the issue.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, let go of the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume Down key to highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  • Press the Power key to select and wipe the cache.
  • With ‘reboot system now’ highlighted, press the Power key to restart the device.

If the problem still persists then the next step is to check if a certain app is causing this issue to occur. To do this you need to start your phone in Safe Mode.

  • Turn the device off.
  • Press and hold the Power key.
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, release the Power key. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  • Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.
  • ‘Safe mode’ will display in the bottom left corner of the screen. Release the Volume down key when you see ‘Safe Mode.’

If the freezing issue does not occur in Safe Mode then the problem may be app related. Find out what app is causing this to occur and uninstall it.

Finally, if all else fails you should consider doing a factory reset. Just make sure to back up your phone data before proceeding.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘delete all user data.’
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.

Note 3 “Unfortunately, TouchWiz home has stopped” Error

Problem: Hello, my name is Rachel and I have a Galaxy Note 3. Recently, when I try to move apps either on the screens or from the apps section to the home screen, I receive an error: “Unfortunately, TouchWiz home has stopped.” In result, no apps are able to be moved around within the phone. I also recently did the system upgrade. I am not sure if the two items are related. Do you have any suggestions to help the apps move again? Also, is like to ask your advise on another phone issue. I switched my Galaxy Note 3 from Verizon to AT&T. Now, when I receive calls, the call has a plus sign in front of it. For example, +7243160507. I am still able to receive the call sometimes. However, sometimes when I answer, it is a blank line and the other person can’t hear me either. When I try to swipe right and call the number back, it won’t let me complete the call because of the plus sign. AT&T representatives were not able to figure out this solve this last calling issue. Thank you for any help you can provide

Solution: It appears that data form the previous software version was not totally taken out of your phone causing this issue to occur.

Try clearing the cache and data of the TouchWiz app and see if this resolves the issue.

  • From any Home screen, tap Apps.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Scroll to ‘APPLICATIONS,ā€™ then tap Application manager.
  • Swipe right to the ALL screen.
  • Find and tap Touchwiz.
  • Tap Clear cache.
  • Tap Clear data, then OK. [NOTE: All your Home screens will be deleted.]

If the issue still occurs then proceed with wiping the cache partition of your phone.

Finally, if all else fails a factory reset is highly recommended since the issue occurred right after a software update. Make sure to back up your phone data before proceeding.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When ‘GALAXY Note 3’ appears on the screen, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.

  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key to highlight ‘delete all user data.’
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
