J5 Screen Not Responding To Touch After Getting Wet

Problem: I dropped my device in water.  It has been dried out over a few days.  The device will power up and the camera will work but the touch screen will not work at all.  Can this be fixed please?

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the phone is dry. Wipe the external part with a soft cloth. Since water has most likely entered the phone you will need to place the device in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the phone has most likely suffered from water damage. You need to have this checked at a service center.

J5 Screen Clicks On Itself

Problem: Hi there, I have a Samsung J5, and I’ve had it for a little over 1 year. Over the past few months it’s been freaking out and it starts ‘clicking’ everything by itself. So it might open an app, then get out of it, and then go to contacts, then try and close apps. It’s like I’m tapping everything I possibly can, but the phone does it on its own. It only does it when it gets down to about 60% battery, but it’s horrendously annoying. I know that 1 year is getting on for a smartphone, but I wanted to see if it’s something that can be fixed before I go out and get another one. Thanks!

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone. Try checking first if the issue still occurs and if it does then this is most likely caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. You can have this checked at a service center however if the cost of repair is high then its better to just get a new phone.

J5 Crashes After Software Update

Problem: Hi, Since updating my Samsung Galaxy J5 2016, my apps keep crashing constantly which is very annoying my phone is 7 months old. I have cleared the cache, switched my phone off, uninstalled and reinstalled the app it’s no better. I do not like the Samsung update my phone was a lot better before in many ways. Can you help please, thank you.

Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing this as this could be causing the problem. You should also consider doing a factory reset since the problem could also be caused by old software data that has not been completely removed during the update process. This old data will usually cause a conflict with the new software version resulting in this issue. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

J5 Restarts When Charging

Problem: I have a samsung galaxy j5 2015. My phone was running fine until a few months back a problem appeared. Whenever i charge my phone after half an hour during the charging the phone starts restarting. And after the battery is 65% charged it turns off and doesnt boot up until you remove the battery and put it again I have changed the battery but the problem remains.

Solution: You should try using a different charger and charging cord to charge the phone. In case the problem persists then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if the issue still occurs and if it does then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J5 Black Screen After Phone Was Slammed

Problem: I made a mistake of slamming my phone down on my table and ever since then my phone screen has been black with a cracked screen. My phone is still working tho cos I can hear sounds on my phone.

Solution: Unfortunately in this case this is already caused by a faulty hardware component (which is the display). You should have the display assembly of the phone replaced at a service center.
