J3 Screen Flickering With Lines

Problem: My screen is flickering weirdly, there are small lines across the whole screen and sometimes the things on the screen are shown twice and move up and down with the lines, right now only the top half inch or so of the screen shown and moving on the bottom half inch, but sometimes it’s been the whole screen. it’s like the screen is vibrating, but only visually. I’ve tried doing resets, I’ve used the device’s security checker, i’ve turned developer mode on and off, nothing has worked so far. I’d really appreciate your help.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If your phone has a microSD card installed then you should remove it. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely a hardware related problem already possibly caused by a faulty display in which case you will need to have this checked at a service center.

J3 Freezes When Brightness Is Increased

Problem: When I turn the brightness up on my phone my screen turns orange and freezes. I have to turn it off then back on to unfreeze. If i keep the brightness turned down it does not freeze.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to check if the problem is caused by an app you downloaded. Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue occurs in Safe Mode then proceed with doing a factory reset. This allows you to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. Make sure to backup your phone data  before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs and if it does then you will need to have the phone checked at a service center as this could already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly.

J3 Videos And Music Pause Randomly

Problem: I bought two Samsung galaxy j3 primes and they both do the same thing. Videos and music pause randomly, I’ve tried restarting it and I’ve tried soft resetting it as well. It happens the most with Spotify, YouTube, and Facebook.

Solution: If you are streaming the videos and music from an online source then you should make sure that the phone is connected to a fast and stable Wi-Fi network. To check if this is a connection related problem you should try connecting the phone to a different Wi-Fi network then check if the problem still occurs.

Sometimes the lack of RAM due to many open apps can also cause this problem. If you have some open apps then try to force close them then check if the issue still occurs.

In case the issue persists then perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Check for any software updates and update your phone accordingly.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occurs in this mode? If i doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

J3 Screen Has No Display After Drop

Problem: I dropped my phone while I was working out on the elliptical. I picked it up and I saw there are too many lines going through my screen. The screen was also cracked. I could still hear the video I was watching except there was no display. I turned off my phone and when I turned it on all I could see was the time.

Solution: Since this screen is already cracked then this is most likely a hardware related problem already. You need to have the display assembly of the phone replaced at a service center.

J3 Screen Is Black

Problem: I was on Facebook watching a video, the screen cuts to black and I thought my phone died when the sounds from the video came back on. I can unlock it and it still makes sounds. I can even call it and talk on it. I just can’t see anything. I have left the battery out for 12 hours and it’s still not coming back on. If there is a way to turn it for only a short while to get all of my saved stuff off of it that would be perfect. Please contact me back. Thank you.

Solution: If your phone had a microSD card installed then remove it. With the battery out of the phone press and hold the power button for at least a minute then reinsert the battery. Turn on the phone. In case the issue persists then you will need to have this checked at a service center.
