Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Chromebook in January during the CES 2020 event. The company managed to impress practically everyone with this convertible notebook, thanks to a combination of excellent design as well as internal hardware features. This stellar Chromebook is available for purchase in the U.S. starting today. Customers can head over to Samsung or Best Buy’s online store to get the new Galaxy Chromebook delivered to their doorstep.
So what else is different about this Chromebook as compared to the company’s older Chromebooks. For starters, this is Samsung’s first AMOLED display on a Chromebook. This is accompanied by a 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) giving it exceptional image clarity, even in broad daylight. This powerhouse runs the 10th gen Intel Core i5 processor and is accompanied by 256GB of internal storage (SSD) and 8GB of RAM.
What’s also new with this laptop is the addition of a secondary camera right above the keyboard panel. This is designed to let you take photos when the Galaxy Chromebook is rotated at an angle, allowing you to use the display as the viewfinder for 8MP photos.
While this doesn’t necessarily seem like something that every user will need, it’s a worthy addition nonetheless. Additionally, there’s a standard 1MP front camera for regular video calls. Samsung is also including the S Pen stylus with this Chromebook accompanied by a dedicated silo to store the stylus.
To make the deal sweeter for customers, Samsung is offering trade-ins for several tablets, including its own high-end tablets as well as Apple’s iPad Pro lineup. However, this is only valid if you get the Galaxy Chromebook via Samsung. While the iPad Pro can fetch you up to $250 in credit to spend towards the Galaxy Chromebook, select high-end Samsung tablets will garner nearly $400.
