Samsung Galaxy A10 reboots randomly. Here’s how to fix it.

When a smartphone reboots randomly, it is almost certain that there’s an issue with the firmware. Such is the case with some owners of the Samsung Galaxy A10, an entry-level device that actually has some decent hardware specs for its category. This kind of problem occurs from time to time and it does not necessarily mean it’s serious. In fact, I encountered similar issues in the past and I was able to fix them just by doing some basic troubleshooting procedures. 

So, in this post, I will guide you in troubleshooting your Galaxy A10 that reboots randomly. I will share with you the solutions that have been proven effective against this problem. Fixing Galaxy A10 that reboots randomly

You don’t need to do a lot of procedures in order to fix this problem or to know what the issue really is. But you have to be careful not to delete some of your important files and data. Just do one procedure at a time until it becomes clear what causes it or why it occurs. With that being said, here’s what you need to do: 

First solution: Run your phone in safe mode

This procedure is very simple but it will tell you immediately if this problem is caused by one or some of the apps you downloaded or installed on your device. In safe mode, all third-party apps are temporarily disabled. So, if the issue doesn’t occur while your phone is in this mode, then it means that it’s caused by a third-party app or two. The next thing you have to do is find out which of your apps is the culprit and that’s the key to fixing this problem. So, here’s how you restart your phone in safe mode: 

1. Press and hold the Volume Down button and don’t release it yet. 
2. While holding down the volume button, press and hold the Power key as well. 
3. Keep both keys held down together for 15 seconds or until the Galaxy A10 logo shows on the screen.

Once the phone has successfully rebooted, continue using it like you often do to see if it still reboots randomly even in this mode. Assuming the problem is fixed, then follow these steps to probe further: 

1. Restart your phone normal to boot into standard mode. 
2. Remember the apps you installed about the time when the phone starts to reboot by itself. 
3. Once you already have an app in mind, swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down. 
4. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner. 
5. Scroll to and then tap Apps. 
6. Find and tap suspected app. 
7. Tap Storage. 
8. Touch Clear data and tap OK to confirm.
9. Tap the back key once and then touch Uninstall. 
10. Confirm that you want to remove the app from your phone. 

However, if the phone still reboots randomly while in safe mode, then move on to the next solution.

Second solution: Reset all settings

It is very much possible that some settings have been changed and caused the phone to reboot by itself. There are settings that can cause this problem, especially if the Developer Options have been enabled. Of course we don’t know where to look, that’s why it’s best to reset all settings in your device so that it will be brought back to its factory settings without deleting your files and data. And here’s how you do that: 

1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to pull the notification panel down. 
2. Tap the Settings icon on the upper-right corner. 
3. Scroll to and tap General management. 
4. Touch Reset. 
5. Tap Reset settings. 
6. Tap the Reset settings button. 
7. If prompted, enter your PIN, Password or Pattern. 
8. Finally, tap Reset.

After doing this, try to see if your phone still reboots randomly. If it still does, then move on to the next solution. 

Third solution: Delete the system cache

Another possibility is that the system cache may have been corrupted or became obsolete. You need to delete the old cache so that a new one will be created. Corrupt cache will often cause performance issues like random reboots, freezes, lags and sluggishness. To rule this out, follow these steps: 

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
3. When the Galaxy A10 logo shows, release all three keys.
4. Your Galaxy A10 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step. 
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
6. Press Power key to select.
7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Once the phone has successfully rebooted, try to see if it still reboots randomly. If the problem remains, then do the next procedure.

Fourth solution: Backup your files and reset your phone

As long as the firmware hasn’t been modified in any, a reset will fix this problem. It may be a challenge to backup your personal files depending on how frequent the phone reboots by itself, but try to create a copy of the files you don’t want to lose. After the backup, remove your Google account so that you won’t be locked out and then follow these steps to reset your phone: 

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power keys.
3. When the Galaxy A10 logo shows, release all three keys.
4. Your Galaxy A10 will continue to boot up into the Recovery Mode. Once you see a black screen with blue and yellow texts, proceed to the next step. 
5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset’.
6. Press Power button to select.
7. Press the Volume down key until ‘Yes’ is highlighted.
8. Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
9. When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
10. Press the Power key to restart the device.

If your phone reboots randomly even after the reset, it’s possible at this point that the problem is with the hardware. Therefore, take a trip back to the store or local shop and get the phone checked by a technician.
