Your new Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus has a nano SIM card which shares a card tray with the microSD card. Needless to say, when you remove your SIM card, the SD card will also be unmounted and vice versa. While you can insert or remove any of these cards while your phone is powered on, we strongly suggest you turn it off before removing or pulling out the combined card tray as it may result to data loss on your SD card or damage the SIM card itself.
In this post, I will guide you in inserting and removing the nano SIM and SD cards into and from your phone. The procedure will be performed with the help of the card removal tool which you will insert into the pinhole to pop the card tray out. Inserting / Removing SIM and SD cards
Before doing the steps below, we recommend that you turn your phone off to avoid your SIM card being damaged or your SD card corrupted.
- Locate the combined nano SIM / microSD card tray on the top of your device.
- With the device powered off, press the card insertion/removal tool into the card tray pinhole and push in until the tray releases.
- Slide the card tray out of its slot.
- Insert or remove the nano SIM or microSD card into or from the tray with the gold contacts facing the back of the phone.
- Press the combined nano SIM / microSD card tray back into its slot until it clicks, making sure it’s secure.
And that’s pretty much it! You may now turn your phone back on and it will start to connect to the network. As to the SD card, you may be prompted to format the newly-detected card. That is if it’s the first time you mounted the SD card into your phone.
