HTC 10 Exclamation Point When Charging
Problem: Hi, I’ve had my HTC 10 for about 7 months now. Every now and then a red exclamation point used to appear on the charge symbol, but it seemed to be no big deal. For two weeks the device has been showing charge problems: everytime I plug in the official charger, the exclamation point will appear, and no matter how long I leave the mobile to charge, the percentage will stay 1%. If I use an unofficial charger it will charge. Also, when charging, the mobile will turn off every now and then. Is it a matter of charger or battery? Thanks in advance.
Solution: The charging problem that you are experiencing with the device could be caused by a faulty official charger or charging cord since you mentioned that when using another charger the problem does not occur.
The issue of your phone turning off when charging the device is another matter. To troubleshoot this particular issue just follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port gets removed.
- Try charging the phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then try using different charging cords and wall chargers.
If the issue persists even after performing the steps listed above then try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If this doesn’t fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
HTC 10 Long Text Messages Are Sent As Separate Messages
Problem: Not receiving lengthy text messages on HTC 10. Example one: a friend sent a long text and it came through as multiple messages, and the numbers in the corner indicated there should be five messages total. However, I received 1, 2, & 5 of five but not 3 & 4. Example two: people have messaged me asking me if I got there text, which I hadn’t, and then sent me a screenshot of the message they sent. Each time this has happened the missing texts seem to be longer messages. Shorter messages seem to come through just fine.
Solution: Depending on what your carrier is you will be receiving long text messages as one message or it might be broken down to separate messages. If you are on a GSM network such as AT&T then the long text messages will not be split. If however you are on a CDMA network such as Sprint then long text messages will be split. One workaround to this is to use MMS when sending longer text messages.
HTC 10 Not Receiving All Text Messages
Problem: Hello, My phone is having issues with the texting. I can receive and send texts out however, I do not receive all of my texts that are sent to me and when I send texts not all of my texts are received by whoever I am texting. It happens randomly but at least once a day.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to check if the problem is caused by a phone glitch by following the troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing a step immediately check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed to the next step down the list.
- Turn off the phone then remove the SIM card. Wait for a minute then reinsert the SIM card then turn on the phone. This will reset the phone connection to the network and refresh the phone software.
- Try to check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Clear the cache and data of the text messaging app.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
HTC 10 Runs Very Slow
Problem: Please please please please help me. My phone is running astronomically slower than what is should be and idk what to do Literally every time I try to do anything, and I mean anything, it starts bugging out and lags and freezes sometimes It won’t even send messages as fast as it used to and I know it’s not because of the service I use Please help me I’m literally going insane over the stupid thing.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Remove the microSD card of your phone. Check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then the card might be causing the problem.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the issue occurs in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
HTC 10 Keeps On Prompting to Restart
Problem: I started getting a message on my HTC that interrupts any and every screen I may be on saying “To Restart Your Phone, Press And Hold The Power Button and The Volume Up Button For 10 Seconds.” That may not be verbatim, but it is something like that. I have restarted my phone at least 30 times and this message keeps appearing within seconds of powering back up. It’s very intrusive.
Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
- Make sure that the phone is off
- Press and hold the Volume Down + Power button at the sime time for a couple of seconds.
- You may release held keys as soon as the Download Mode menu appears on the screen.
- Afterwards use the Volume keys to select option “Bootloader”, and press Power button to confirm.
- Then press Volume Down to select option “Reboot to Recovery Mode”, and press Power button to confirm.
- As soon as the phone with the exclamation point appears on the screen hold down Power key.
- While holding down the Power button press and release Volume Up key.
- Next select from Recovery Mode menu “wipe data / factory reset” using Volume buttons to navigate and Power button to confirm.
- Choose “Yes — delete all user data” to confirm the whole operation.
- Select option “reboot system now”.
In case the issue persists after this then this might already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
HTC 10 Contacts Has Stopped Unexpectedly
Problem: my htc one m8 its saying com.htc.contacts has stopped unexpectedly. would you like to send an error report to HTC? This will help us improve our products. how do i fix this error please it pops up anytime
Solution: The best way to fix this problem is to clear the cache and data of the contacts app from the application manager. If this fails to fix the problem then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
