The #HTC10 is a flagship quality smartphone released last year that is best known for having a great audio quality as well as a front camera that has optical image stabilization which is the first for a mobile phone. HTC 10 Charging Port Got Burned When Charging

Problem: Hey, So I bought a HTC 10 late May. Beautiful phone worked great for a month and half. Then all of a sudden one night when I plugged in my usb type C cable into my htc 10, that is with the original cable and block provided, I heard some sizzling. The port smelt like smoke and I’d get an error message. I could also hear a high pitched noise coming from the charger when it gets plugged in. I’m pretty sure my port was fried. I sent it in to HTC and they repaired it and I received my phone back today. I’m about to check if it’ll charge. I’m worried the same problem will occur though. I’m wondering how this happened. If it was the phone or a faulty charger, or if it’s the fact that it uses quick charge?. I wanna try to avoid this from happening again. Thank you

Solution: The most likely reason why the charging port got damaged when you charged the phone is because of a short circuit. This usually happens if you are using a damaged charging cord or if some dirt or debris is present in the charging port. To prevent another occurrence of this incidence I would suggest that you make sure that the charging port of the phone is free from any dirt or debris. You should laso make sure that the charging cord you are using to charge the phone is not faulty.

HTC 10 Keeps On Rebooting

Problem: I have an HTC 10 that I just bought and everything seemed fine.  When I woke up and the phone kept rebooting itself.  I figured it was a system update and waited a few cycles but nothing happened.  I can get it to boot to the bootloader screen but that is it.  It will just lock up if I try to boot to download mode and trying to boot to recovery just makes it go back to cycling.  I contacted HTC and they told me I can send it in for repairs and after 7-10 days I will receive a quote for cost to fix it which is BS since I just bought the phone and nothing happened to it.  The other option they gave me was to send it in for a refund which would also take 7-10 days and by the time that is done, the $100 off sale will be done.    I found your forum looking to see if other users were having similar issues and thought I would share my story.  HTC told me to call again today because no one was there saturday who could help me.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the issue still occurs after this then you should consider returning the phone since you just got it.

HTC 10 Is Not Fast Charging

Problem: Hi, I purchased an HTC 10 back in May, and part from a malfunctioning screen (that the warranty covered), it have worked fine except for one thing, the quick charge function suddenly disappeared, which I find slightly annoying at times. I’ve tried a hard reset with no result, and also did the battery reset procedure (turning it off, charging it for 20min, then holding the three buttons on the right side for 2 min while the phone was still connected to the charger, then allow it to charge to 100%), but that didn’t fix the problem either. I’m reluctant to sending it back to be serviced again as they don’t repair HTC’s in Norway and the service time hence is in excess of six weeks. Are there any other clever procedures that may fix this problem?

Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it gets removed. You should also try using a different charging cord and wall charger ( must have an output of at least 2.0A). In case the issue persists then you will need to have this checked at a service center as the problem could be caused by a faulty battery.

HTC 10 Stuck In Bootloop

Problem: Device started going completely crazy and there where touch indicator circle things everywhere. I have no idea how that happened. So I ended up forcing it to restart or whatever by pushing power and volume down but now it’s stuck in a loop and o don’t know what to do. It just keeps showing HTC and android on the black screen as it buzzes every 30 seconds to a minute or so. I don’t know how to fix this. I don’t want to have to send it in because I’ve just got my phone back from HTC because when I bought one originally they sent me a defective device. My phone was perfectly fine till now. No drops on the ground or contact with water or anything of that nature.

Solution: You should try starting the phone in recovery mode then from here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. In case the issue persists then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

HTC 10 Internal Speaker Not Working

Problem: I have one inquiry, I’m feared that my service wants to charge me more than necessary. My top speaker doesn’t work, they diagnosed that some audio chip doesn’t work anymore, but I’m just thinking that is it possible that only one speaker is dead if the audio chip is incorrect? . Also it died while talking on the phone and factory reset or any other software solution did not help. Kindest regards

Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset then the most likely cause of this problem is either a defective internal speaker or a defective audio chip. You can try checking if the external speaker of the phone works by playing some music. If the external speaker works then it’s very likely that the problem is caused by a faulty internal speaker.

HTC 10 Will Not Turn Off

Problem: My phone will not turn off. I hit the power button and it shuts off and then automatically turns right back on. I put the 15 second to screen to turn off then it turns back on. I’ve reset the phone multiple times and it does nothing

Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still occurs then this is most likely a hardware related problem already. You will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

HTC 10 Not Syncing With Macbook Air

Problem: Good day. i I have HTC 10 and Macbook Air. when i was syncing my device with my mac, it was working excellent but since couple months it stopped syncing and giving me this note (Unable to Sync. reconnect your device. Error 34. the computer find the device and i can use the HTC Sync Manager for all other options but not the sync!!! best regards

Solution: You should try using a different USB cord when connecting the phone to your Macbook as this problem could be caused by a faulty cord.
