S6 Edge Replacement Charging Port Not Working
Problem: Hi my mum in law said her phone charger stopped working when I looked at it the usb port was pretty buggered and just assumed it was broken (the charger and cable where fine) so bought a new charger port flex swapped it over but I didn’t get any sign of charge is there a some kind of charger protection soft/hardware type protection I also tried safe mode and clearing the cache with no sign of charging. Also seems to charge fine with the qi wireless but I had already got the part before I tested so I thought I may as well fix it just to find it didn’t fix the problem
Solution: Once you have replaced the damaged charging port of the phone with a new one then it should be charging with a wall charger without any issues. Since it does not charge and but phone will charge wirelessly then it’s either the replacement charging port is damaged or the charger that you are using is not working. Try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. If this does not work then you will have to try checking the connections of the charging port assembly and make sure that it is properly attached to the phone. You should also consider getting another charging port assembly as the one you have on the phone might be damaged.
S6 Edge Operating System Has Been Modified Error
Problem: Anytime i click on the software update i get this message “The operating system on your phone has been modified in an unauthorized way.Try downloading software updates using smart switch on your PC or visit a customer service centre.” Additional info: i bought this phone from someone
Solution: You will usually get this error message if the phone has been rooted, running on a custom software ,or if the Knox counter has been tripped.
If you want your phone to be running on the latest software version then perform the steps listed below.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
- Connect the phone to a computer with Smart Switch installed and running then let the software update the phone.
In case the issue persists then you will have to flash the updated firmware file to your phone using Odin. You can get the firmware file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.
S6 Edge Cannot Connect To Wi-Fi
Problem: I have a Samsung galaxy 6 edge . I can’t seem to connect to my wifi from my provider who I have contacted and they say it’s my phone and their internet service is fine. I can connect to my home wi fi and other wifi services available just not my paid Sim contract internet. What shall I do? Help Thanks
Solution: If other devices can connect to the Wi-Fi network without any problems then the issue might be with the phone itself. Follow the steps listed below to fix the problem.
- Forget the Wi-Fi connection from the phone then connect to it again.
- Try checking if the issue does not occur when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then an app you downloaded could be causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge no Mobile Data After SIM Replacement
Problem: Hi I recently bought a new sim for my phone as my old one was too large for this phone. I haven’t transferred my data from the previous one to the new one yet though the new one notices I’m on vodafone but I cannot open the vodafone app as it doesn’t show any signs of connecting to the data. I can turn it on but no icon or anything will indicate that the data is actually on. It’s very confusing and I would like help as to why the data isn’t showing or working. Thanks ps. There’s no dodgy apps or cached data that could be affecting it.
Solution: To fix this problem you need to make sure that your SIM has an active mobile data subscription. You should also make sure that the phone has the correct APN settings set.
S6 Edge Shuts Off When Battery Reaches 50%
Problem: I have a samsung s6 edge when the phone gets to 50% it automatically shuts off and i have to charge it 100% in order to use it if not it keeps shutting off while at 50%
Solution: It looks like the battery of the phone needs to be replaced already. You can check if this is the case by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have the battery replaced.
S6 Edge Voice Volume In Calls Keeps Changing
Problem: My friends who call me they complain about my voice volume going up and down. And they having hard time to hear me properly. Earlier I thought I was by mistake pressing the volume while holding but it’s the same thing if I use a headset or not. And interestingly I even tried a factory reset on my phone and it did not work. Can you please help.
Solution: If the issue still remains after a reset then the last troubleshooting step that you can do is to try going to a different area and check if the issue still occurs. This way you can verify if the problem is caused by the network. In case the issue persists then you will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.
