Phone owners who have devices running on Android Pie however will have difficulty on recording calls as Google has apparently disabled the ability for apps to record calls for this software version. It appears that the company wants to avoid any controversies regarding privacy laws that could affect its business in the future.
How To Record Phone Calls On Android
Use the phone built-in call recorder
Some phones such as Asus and Xiaomi have a built in call recorder feature on the dialing app. All you need to do when a call is connected is to tap on the record button to record a call. There is no need for you to download a third party app if your phone has this feature. Take note that this will not be available in all devices and is usually present in smartphones sold in Europe and Asia.
Use Google Voice
If you have Google Voice setup in your phone then you can record incoming voice calls. You will need to setup this feature first as it is not activated by default.
- Open the Google Voice app
- Tap on Menu
- Tap on Settings
- Swipe down the screen then turn on the â Incoming Call Optionsâ. This will enable call recording.
Call recording is limited to incoming calls only. When you want to record a call just press on the number 4 on the keypad. A message will be announced that the call is being recorded to get the other personâs permission. To stop the recording press on the number 4 again. The recorded call will be available for playback from your inbox.
Use a third party call recorder app
There are several apps available in the Google Play Store that can record voice calls. Itâs best to check which app suits you best by trying some of the popular ones available. Make sure to read the reviews of the app left by people who have tried it so that you will get to know if it is generally a good app to use.
