How to insert SIM card on Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019)

Unlike some Samsung Galaxy tablets and phones, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) does not have a DUAL SIM variant so you can only use one SIM card. Follow these steps to insert a SIM card:

  1. Turn off your Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019). This is important. Inserting a SIM while the device is on may result to corrupted data.
  2. With your phone’s screen facing you, remove the card tray. You can use the insertion/removal tool (or a paperclip) to unlock the tray by inserting it into the provided slot. This small hole should be visible on the left side of your device.
  3. Insert the SIM card into the tray (gold contacts facing down). The card should fit snugly in the slot. If the metallic contacts are visible to you, or if the card seems to move, you’re not doing it right. Ensure the card fits into place.
  4. Insert SIM card.
  5. Insert the card tray (gold contacts facing down).
  6. Press in on the tray to lock it into place.
  7. That’s it! Turn on your Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) and see if it now detects your SIM card.
