Troubleshooting Galaxy A7 with Youtube that keeps crashing

Whatever the cause of this problem is, it’s just an issue with one app–Youtube. So, we’ll focus our troubleshooting on it so that we can make it work again. It could be a very serious problem but as long as the firmware hasn’t been modified in any way, there’s always a chance that you could fix it on your own. With that said, here’s what I suggest you do about it:

Reboot your phone – this might be just a minor glitch in the system that’s why it’s very important that you try to restart your phone. Glitches can easily be fixed by this very simple procedure but if the problem continues after this, try doing the forced reboot procedure: press and hold the volume down and power keys together for 10 seconds or more. It may seem like a normal reboot but it does a lot more. However, if the app continues to crash after this, then move on to the next procedure.

Run phone in safe mode – this is going to disable all third-party apps. It is important because there are times when apps you download from the Play Store cause pre-installed applications to crash. If the problem doesn’t occur while the phone is in safe mode, then it means that there’s an app that’s causing it. Find that app and uninstall it and that should fix the problem. However, if the problem still occurs even in safe mode, then it could mean the problem is with the app or the firmware.

Clear cache and data of Youtube – it will reset the app and bring it back to its default configuration. If this is just a problem with the app, then this is gonna fix it. You just have to navigate to Settings and into the App Manager and look for Youtube. From there, you can clear its cache and data. After doing this and app still crashes, then you must try the next procedure.

Wipe cache partition – this procedure will delete all the system caches. Some of them may have been corrupted or became obsolete. You just have to boot the phone into recovery mode and wipe cache partition from there. After the phone has rebooted, open Youtube to know if it still crashes or not and if it still does, a reset will be necessary.

Backup your files and reset your phone – for a problem like this, a reset is more than enough to fix it but you should take time backing up your files and data as they will be deleted during the process. The files you backed up should also be restored after the reset.
