Before you do any of the recommended troubleshooting steps listed below it’s best to make sure that the phone is running on the latest software version.. If an update is available then I suggest that you download and install it first. This will minimize the possibility of the problem being caused by an outdated software version.

Verify that your area has a good network signal

There are times when you will be in an area that does not have any reception from your carrier. To verify if this is a coverage related issue you can check if your phone is getting a strong signal. You should also check if other devices under the same network are also having the same problem in your immediate vicinity to eliminate the possibility of the problem being caused by a network outage.

Perform a soft reset

Your device will usually store temporary data to help it perform better. Sometimes this data  can get corrupted which in turn can cause issues to occur on the phone. If this is what’s causing the problem you will need to refresh your phone software. This can be done by restarting the phone which should eliminate any corrupt temporary data in the device.
