One of the top consumers complaints that have been filed with the FCC every year is unwanted calls from telemarketers. These spam calls can oftentimes waste a lot of your time if you get several of these types of calls daily. Even if you do block these calls robocallers will still find a way to contact you as they find new ways to bypass any blocking system that you place on your phone. While it might seem like a losing battle there are effective ways on how to block spoofed spam calls from robocall robots on Android which we have listed below.
Block each spam number manually: This is a time consuming method but is highly effective. If a certain number keeps on contacting you and is known to be a spam call then you can block this number from your phone.
To block a call from a latest Samsung smartphone
- From the Home screen, tap the Phone icon.
- Tap Menu then Settings.
- Tap Block numbers and enter the number manually
Use a Third Party Spam Blocker App: The Google Play Store has several good apps that can block spam calls. Truecaller: Caller ID, SMS spam blocking & Dialer is one such app that is a good choice. The app identifies unknown numbers and can immediately determine if it is a spam call then block them.
If you are on the AT&T network with a postpaid plan then you can avail of the carrier’s free app called the AT&T Call Protect which can block fraudulent robocalls from connecting with you. It will not block spam calls completely but instead identify those callers as a possible spam call.
Sprint consumers can avail of the carriers Premium Caller ID service which can identify spam calls and flag robocalls and spammers. Although this is a $2.99 a month feature this is still not a complete solution as it does not automatically block spam calls from getting to you.
T-Mobile consumers can avail of the Scam ID and Scam Block services of the carrier which is offered for free to all of its postpaid customers. Scam ID will identify nuisance callers when your phone rings. Scam Block will block known spam numbers from getting to your phone.
