Google No Longer Selling the Pixel 3 and 3 XL

  • Google’s 2018 flagships, the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL are no longer available on the Google Store.
  • A Google spokesperson confirmed the news and recommended interested buyers to check out retailers like Best Buy and B&H Photo Video.
  • Google is expected to launch the Pixel 4a in a few months with prices starting from $399.

2018’s Google Pixel 3 has officially reached end-of-life status as the phone has been removed from the Google Store page along with the Pixel 3 XL. However, Google continues to sell the Pixel 3a and the 3a XL which were launched in the first half of 2019. The Pixel 3 never really struck a chord with the customers although it was a pretty decent smartphone given the hardware on board.

A Google spokesperson has confirmed to Android Police that the phone is officially being sidelined. The Google rep also mentioned that those who wish to purchase the Pixel 3 or the Pixel 3 XL can do so by heading over to retailers like Best Buy or B&H Photo Video. Customers may also see some steep discounts on the smartphone as retailers look to clear out their inventories. Even if you see the Pixel 3 and 3 XL on the Google Store, it’s most likely going to be listed as out of stock.

This is almost a repeat of last year when the company stopped selling the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL in early April. While this is certainly bad news for a phone that’s not even two years old, there’s plenty to look forward to for Pixel fans. Google is expected to launch the Pixel 4a in a few months from now. Like the Pixel 3a last year, this model is designed to be a low-cost version of the current Pixel flagship. While there’s not a lot of info on the hardware of the Pixel 4a, some reports have mentioned that the pricing for the phone will start from $399.
