How To Fix Your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge that has “Unfortunately, application installer has stopped” error message

Galaxy S7 Edge keeps showing “Application installer has stopped” error

Problem: I have a 7 edge I’ve tried everything. The phone powers on but it says unfortunately application installer has stopped and I press OK and it shows up again . it has a black background and just the alert that pops up. Help me plz I can’t get in the phone at all.

Troubleshooting: The  error message “Unfortunately, application has stopped working” occurs when launching an application like Messaging app and mostly caused by a software crash. Also, there is a possibility that it happened after downloading the latest software update. I know it sound complicated that instead making the device stable or fixed from bugs rather causes an issue.  If you don’t remember when was your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge updated it’s software, then I can help you where to start troubleshooting the device. Don’t worry, if this is a software issue, it can be fixed.

Force Reboot Your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

This is the first and basic troubleshooting step that you should do to isolate the issue, this is equivalent to power shock or removing the battery while the device is on. There’s an instance that the system only needs to refresh the system. If you haven’t tried this step, follow the steps below on how to force reboot your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge:

  2. Press and then hold the Home and Volume UP keys, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge shows on the screen, release the Power key but continue holding the Home and Volume Up keys.
  4. When the Android logo shows, you may release both keys and leave the phone be for about 30 to 60 seconds.
  5. Using the Volume Down key, navigate through the options and highlight ‘wipe cache partition.’
  6. Once highlighted, you may press the Power key to select it.
  7. Now highlight the option ‘Yes’ using the Volume Down key and press the Power button to select it.
  8. Wait until your phone is finished wiping the cache partition. Once completed, highlight ‘Reboot system now’ and press the Power key.
  9. The phone will now reboot longer than usual.

You can launch your Messaging app again and observe your device if the error message will appear. If so, then go straight ahead follow the next procedure.

Factory Reset Your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

If all fails and none of the mentioned steps above are working, then you can factory reset your device. It might be experiencing a more serious issue than software crash. Be warned, that this procedure will clear all files in your device and restore it back to the manufacturer’s default setting. It is highly recommended to backup your important files first before you proceed and perform this procedure.   9. The phone will now reboot longer than usual.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge stuck at 55% updating the system software

Problem: Hello! I’m contacting you because of an issue with my Galaxy S7. It was in the middle of updating and it froze at 55 percent for multiple hours. I was able to turn it off, but I’m not able to turn it back on. Did I ruin the phone or is it possible to turn on again? Thanks!

Troubleshooting: Clearly, your device is unresponsive due to unfinished software download because you turned off your device. First, we have to determine what causes the update to froze at 55 percent. If you are using a Wi-fi, your router must have a strong signal or internet connectivity. Or if you are using a mobile data, make sure that you have enough signal bar or credits to finish the download. Those are just a couple of questions to start determine the issue, but there might be another reason to consider what causes it.

Now, to answer your question if you broke your device, I will recommend performing the troubleshooting steps because your device might respond to it. Follow the recommended steps below:

Force Reboot: Your Device must be experiencing System crash

This method is simple and very safe to perform. This is similar to battery pull procedure for devices that has a removable battery. If your Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is having a system crash or software issue, this step can fix it and turn your device back on. Here’s how to force reboot your device:
