One of the most common reasons for this problem is an expired Xbox Live Gold subscription. If that’s not the problem, there are three other possible reasons that you can check.

Xbox Live Gold is not active.

  2. Check your account settings.

    If your Xbox account does have an active Live Gold membership, it’s possible that the problem is caused by a restriction in your privacy settings. You can change this restriction by going under your account’s Privacy and online safety section.
    -Navigate to your Xbox Home screen.
