How to fix Huawei Honor 9 Lite that won’t turn on (easy steps)

Power issues are often the commonly reported problem with Android users and the same goes for owners of Huawei Honor 9 Lite. We have readers who contacted us asking for help because according to them, their phones turned off and won’t turn back on. Such description of the problem suggest that the problem is related to the phone’s power but most of the time it’s related to its firmware.

Have you heard of the problem often referred to as “system crash?” That could be the problem with your phone right now but what makes it seems like a very serious problem is the fact that if the phone suffers a crash, it would no longer respond whatever you do about it. There’s no reason to panic because this problem can easily be fixed provided that your phone didn’t suffer from physical and/or liquid damage. If for instance, your device got dropped on a hard surface or got submerged in water prior to this problem, it’s almost certain that the cause of the problem is physical or liquid damage. In such case, there’s only so much you can do about it except bring your device to the service center so that the technician can check it up for you. However, if the problem started without any obvious reason or cause, then the following solutions will be very effective:

Press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power key simultaneously for 10 seconds or more. This will make your phone to boot up normally because such combination will simulate battery disconnect and refreshes your phone’s memory. If the problem is indeed due to a system crash, then at this point in time, your Huawei Honor 9 Lite should already be booting up. But if it still not responding after doing that, then try this…

  1. Press and hold the Volume Down button first and don’t let it go.
  2. Press and hold the Power key while the Volume Down button is being held down.
  3. Now, keep both keys pressed for 10 seconds or more.

It basically has the same effect as the first procedure only that we’re making sure this time that the combination is done correctly. Bear in mind that pressing the Volume Down button first has a different effect than when you press the Power key before that. If your phone is still not responding after this, then there’s a possibility that it’s also a combination of two problems; the battery might have been drained completely and the system crashed before the phone shut off. Naturally so, the device won’t respond due to a system crash but even if it does actually respond, the phone may still not be able to boot up due to a drained battery. So try this…

  1. Plug the charger to a working AC outlet. Make sure you’re using the original AC adapter.
  2. Using the original cable, connect the phone to its charger.
  3. Regardless whether the phone shows the charging symbol or not, leave it connected to the charger for at least ten minutes provided it doesn’t heat up.
  4. Now press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power key together for 10 seconds again to do the Forced Reboot.
