S4 Not Connecting To 3G Network

Problem: I have a problem with galaxy s4 not showing 3G network/not connecting to 3G network. I used to use 3G all the time. It was working completely fine but after the factory rest which I did recently, the 3G network is not connecting on my Galaxy S4 phone. It only shows E on the notification bar. The auto 3G/2G is ticked on my mobile still it is not connecting. 3G network is available in my area as I used to use only 3G before the factory reset was done and my Husband and others at home also use 3G on the same network as mine. I did the factory reset because my phone was heating up like a pan and the battery was draining too fast. But after the reset my phone isn’t connecting to 3G network nor is it showing H/3G on notification bar. I have my 3G data pack available. Please help.

Solution: If this issue occured right after you performed a factory reset then the only reason I can think of as to why your phone is not connecting to the 3G network is that the APN settings on your phone may not be the correct. Try to check on this first and compare it with the one your carrier is using. You may need to visit your carrier’s website to get the correct settings.

  • From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap the Connections tab.
  • Under Network connections, tap More networks.
  • Tap Mobile networks.
  • Tap Access Point Names.
  • To reset your APN, tap the Menu key and then tap Reset to default.
  • If available, tap the APN of your carrier
  • Verify and update if necessary the APN settings.

S4 Not Accessing The Internet

Problem: Hi. Just today my Samsung galaxy s4 lollipop update had stopped accessing the Internet well. When I go to the play store it says that there’s a network error even though it’s connected to wifi. I checked in my Google account status on the phone and it says that it can’t sync. Also it can’t access youtube. It browses the Internet slowly but it says that the connection  is not private and not safe. It has a hard time with applications such as skype. It overheats. It was hard to download large apps in the play store when the play store was accessible. The wifi router is good because my other device surfs the Internet very well. Please help. Thanks

Solution: The first thing that you should do is to restart  your phone and the router. Once both devices are turned on try connecting to the Wi-Fi connection again and see if the problem still occurs. If it does then try connecting to a different Wi-Fi connection or try connecting to your mobile data. This let’s us check if the issue is with the router or your phone. If your phone can connect well on a different Wi-Fi source then the issue may be with your router. However, if the issue still remains then the problem may lie with your phone.

What you need to do if this is a phone related problem is to first start your device in Safe Mode. This allows you to verify if a certain third party app is causing this issue to occur.

  • Remove the battery from the phone.
  • Re-insert the battery.
  • Press and hold the Menu key.
  • While holding the Menu key, turn on the device.
  • When you see the lock screen, you can release the Menu key.
  • ‘Safe mode’ displays in the lower-left corner.

Once in Safe mode try to connect to your router. If your phone can connect to the Internet normally then an app may be causing the issue. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue still persists even in Safe Mode then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before proceeding.

  • Turn off the device.
  • Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time: Volume Up key, Home key, Power key.
  • When the phone vibrates, release the Power key but continue to press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key.
  • When the Android System Recovery screen appears, release the Volume Up and Home keys.
  • Press the Volume down key several times key to highlight ‘wipe data / factory reset.’
  • Press Power button to select.
  • Press the Volume down key until ‘delete all user data’ is highlighted.
  • Press Power button to select and start the master reset.
  • When the master reset is complete, ‘Reboot system now’ is highlighted.
  • Press the Power key to restart the device.

S4 Not Able To Use LTE After Lollipop Update

Problem: Hi! Please I need help with my Samsung Galaxy S4, see I’ve had my Phone one and a half year and it’s been running great. But when I updated my Phone to lollipop(5.0.1) I seem to not be able to use my 4g/LTE. And it’s really annoying because I want to use my mobile internet.

Please help me!!!

And I’ve tried this steps also.

  • Tap your Menu Key
  • Go to Settings
  • Tap More Networks
  • Go to Network Mode
  • Select the Network that you want. For 4G/LTE, choose the LTE/CDMA option.
  • Tap OK and the device will apply the new settings

But it does not work. Please help.

Solution: Since you have already made sure that your  phone is set to use the LTE network the next thing you should do is to make sure that you have an active mobile data subscription. Most carriers won’t allow you to connect to the LTE network if you don’t have any data subscription. Next, check if the APN settings of your phone is the same as the one your carrier is using. If it is different then make the necessary changes.

If the problem still persists then you should consider doing a factory reset since this issue occured right after the Lollipop update. Make sure that you backup your phone data before proceeding.

S4 Not Able To Send Pictures

Problem: I’m unable to send pictures but I’m able to receive them

Solution: The first thing you need to do is to restart your phone then try to check if you are able to send picture messages. If the issue is still the same then try to check if you have an active mobile data subscription. You should also check if your phone is using the correct APN settings.

You should also try to start your phone in Safe Mode then send out a picture message.

If you are able to send a picture message in this mode then a certain third party app installed in your phone may be causing the issue. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
