Easy steps to Customize Hangouts Invites on Galaxy S20

There are different ways to get Hangouts invites from someone. The following steps will help you manage your Galaxy S20 Hangouts app settings and set your preferred invite method. Feel free to make this a personal reference.
Open the Hangouts app.
Just look for the Hangouts icon from the Apps viewer.The Apps viewer can be accessed by swiping up from the bottom of the Home screen.
From the Hangouts app main screen, tap the Menu icon.
The Menu icon is represented by three short horizontal lines located on the top-leftmost corner of the Hangouts display.A list of sub-menu items will then populate.
Scroll down and tap Settings.
General settings and Hangouts accounts will be displayed on the next screen.
Select your Hangouts account.
To continue with this guide, let’s pick The Droid Guy, so tap on it.The Droid Guy account’s Hangouts settings will be displayed.
Scroll down to the section labeled with ‘How others get in touch with you’ then tap Customize invites.
On the next screen you will see different options for you to customize invites on Hangouts.
Tap People who have your email and specify how you would like to get invites from these people.
Among your options are direct contact and by sending an invite.
Tap People who have your phone number and specify how you would like to get invites from them.
The selections are the same as previous (direct and by sending invite).
Finally tap Everyone else then specify how you would like to get invites from everyone else.
You may opt to get invites thru direct contact and invite sending. You can also prevent everyone else from sending invites on Hangouts.

If you see the Hangout pop-up on the top of your Gmail chat list, it means that someone is sending you an invite to a video call. You may opt to Accept of Ignore the invitation.
Pending invitation will remain at the top of your Gmail chat list until you accept and respond to it.
If you think you’re getting more spam invitations on Hangouts, you can block these invites through the Hangouts app.
This will require you to open a Hangouts conversation to access More options. From there you can select the person to block under People’s list.
