How To Fix COD Vanguard Mic Not Working On PS4/PS5 | Easy Solutions
Many COD Vanguard players are reporting issues with the in-game voice chat feature. Some experience difficulties with the game’s audio voice chat while others have mic issues. In this guide, we’ll show you the solutions that you can take if your mic appears to be not working when using the COD Vanguard voice chat feature on the PS4.
How to fix COD Vanguard mic not working On PS4?
You can follow the solutions below if you’re having trouble talking to your friends using the game’s voice chat feature.
Fix #1: Reboot your PS4.
Refreshing your console by restarting it is a classic troubleshooting step for a wide variety of issues. Make sure that you turn the PS4 off first before turning it back on to check for the issue.
Fix #2: Ensure that your headset has a microphone.
If a quick reboot of your PS4 won’t help, the next step that you must do is to ask yourself: “does my headset have a microphone?”
This obvious question can sometimes be the source of confusion for many newbies who want to use voice chat in Call of Duty Vanguard. Keep in mind that not all headsets come with a microphone.
If the mic is not working on COD Vanguard, do a quick check on your headset to see if it has a microphone.
Fix #3: Check the connections.
If it does come with a microphone, then ensure that it’s properly connected to your PS4 with the original cable from the box. It’s possible that the headset mic’s connection is not just properly plugged in.
Make sure to trace the connection from the headset all the way to the PS4.
Fix #4: Select your headset as an output device and input device.
The audio settings on the PS4 are pretty straightforward and easy to configure. Make sure that you select your headset or microphone as the correct input and output device.
To do that, you want to go to Settings > Devices > Audio Devices.
In the Audio Devices, you should have a list of options such as:
- Input Device,
- Output Device,
- Adjust Microphone level,
- Volume Control (Headphones),
- Output to Headphones, and
- Switch Output Device Automatically.
From this menu, you need to ensure that you select your headset as the Output Device and your mic as the Input Device.
Also, be sure to check that you set the Mic settings (microphone volume) correctly in both game settings and PS4 sound settings.
Fix #5: Use another headset.
If all game settings and sound settings are correct but your COD Vanguard mic is still not working, it’s time to check if there’s a problem with the headset. The best way to do that is to try another headset with a mic.
Make sure to double check everything again (microphone settings, voice chat volume, physical connection, etc.) when using another headset.
Fix #6: Enable Voice Chat.
Another simple thing that you can do in this case is to check if the Voice Chat option in COD Vanguard is ON.
To do that, just go to Settings > Audio > Voice Chat.
Fix #7: Increase Voice Chat volume.
Some people may forget to simply increase the in-game voice chat volume. In the Settings > Audio, make sure to go to Voice Chat volume and see if increasing the volume will do the trick for you.
Fix #8: Enable Crossplay Communication.
If you can’t seem to talk to someone via the COD Vanguard Voice Chat, it’s possible that you may have disabled crossplay communication, which means that you’re account does not allow voice communication between your PS4 and other non-PS4 devices such as PCs and other consoles.
To fix the issue, all you have to do is to enable Crossplay Communication. Here’s how to do that:
- Go to the main Call Of Duty Vanguard screen.
- Select Multiplayer.
- Select Settings.
- Go to the Account & Network tab.
- Select Crossplay and make sure that it’s ON.
