Xiaomi Mi 6 Not Connecting To Mobile Data Network
Problem: Hi, I received a Xiaomi Mi 6 from ebay three weeks ago and since then I struggle to connect to the metroPCS network. I called them and they added the IMEI number of my phone to their dataset, they also tried to reboot things, I also did the manipulation recommended to solve the classical issue of LTE with this phone. Now the phone connect to T-mobile network and not to metro PCS network like my previous phone, I can call and receive text message but I cannot connect to internet mobile not sending text message. I am sure it comes from an incompatibility between the phone and the metroPCS network but I don’t know what to do. I am desperate. I you have any idea I would be more than grateful. Thank you!
Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is caused by a wrong APN and message center number setting.
For the APN setting you need to make sure that the phone is using the settings listed below.
- Name: MetroPCS
- APN: fast.metropcs.com
- Proxy: Not Required
- Port: Not Required
- Username: Not Required
- Password: Not Required
- Server: Not Required
- MMSC: http:// metropcs.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
- MMS proxy: leave it blank
- MMS port: leave it blank
- MCC: 310
- MNC: 16
- Authentication type: Not Required
For the message center number you should contact MetroPCs and have them send the setting over the air.
Xiaomi Mi 6 Screen Unresponsive When Answering Calls
Problem: The Issue with the phone is when I receive an incoming call the screen changes to a black screen with flashing white dots along the outside with a woman’s face in the center. To answer the call I have to tap the green dot and then when I try to swipe the phone to answer the call you have to swipe the screen 10 to 15 time before it will let you answer the call. Sometimes the caller has hung up before I can answer the call. Is there some APP that’s causing this problem?
Solution: Does your phone have a screen protector installed? If it does then try removing this as this could be causing the problem.
If your phone does not have a screen protector or if the issue still occurs even if the screen protector is removed then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- If the problem occurs in Safe Mode then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Xiaomi Mi 6 Cannot Make Calls On Certain Area
Problem: I have been able to use it from in my study to receive and make hundreds of calls. All of a sudden I am unable to make calls from my study and have to move to the side balcony 6 m away to make perfect uninterrupted calls. When I try to make a call now from my study it takes 5 or 6 attempts before it even dials the number and then 40 seconds into the call it sounds like there’s 2 or 3 crossed lines and disconnects. But if I then go straight to the balcony I can call and connect immediately and talk for as long as I need. Do you know why this has just started to happen now after 2 or 3 years?
Solution: There might be some new equipment in your study that is causing some interference with the phone signal. There’s also a possibility that the problem is caused by a network activity that affects the signal that the phone is getting in your study.
Xiaomi Mi 6 Calls Can Only Be Heard On Speakerphone
Problem: I can make calls and everything works fine. When someone calls me, they can’t hear me and I can’t hear them…UNLESS I turn on speakerphone. With speakerphone, everything works fine. How can I resolve this issue and avoid the need to use speakerphone to talk to and hear from the caller?
Solution: The best way to fix this problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the problem still occurs then this is most likely caused by a faulty microphone. You will need to have this checked at a service center.
