How to troubleshoot LG V35 ThinQ with Twitter app that keeps crashing

App crashes are basically minor problems especially if the app in question is a third party like Twitter. The course of our troubleshooting will be to rule out the possibility that this is just a minor issue and then if it continues, we’ll move on to more complicated troubleshooting procedures. With all that being said, here are the things you can do:

First solution: Reboot your phone

This must be the first thing you should do because it’s possible that the problem with your device is just due to a glitch. Glitches can easily be fixed by a reboot and if that’s really the case, then you can save yourself from a lot of trouble. Take time rebooting your phone and find out if Twitter still crashes after that and if it still does, try doing the forced reboot.

Press both the volume down button and the power key at the same time and hold them down together for 8 seconds or until your V35 ThinQ reboots. After this, try to use Twitter to know if the problem got fixed and if not, then move on to the next procedure.

Second solution: Stop Twitter and close background apps

It’s normal for apps to experience minor error and glitches from time to time and random crashing can be a transpiring symptom. The simplest way to fix it is by forcing the errant app to stop. Here’s how:

  1. Swipe down from the Notification bar.
  2. Tap the Settings icon.
  3. Tap the General tab.
  4. Select Apps & notifications.
  5. Tap App info.
  6. Tap Twitter app.
  7. Select Force Stop option.
  8. Then tap OK to confirm.

Do the same to end or force close any other background apps to prevent them from causing conflict with the Twitter app’s normal routine. Retry launching and using the app afterwards to see if the problem is fixed. Proceed to the next applicable solutions if necessary.

Third solution: Clear Twitter’s cache and data

Doing this procedure will bring the app back to its default settings and configuration as well as delete its cache and data so as to replace them with new ones. If the problem is with the app only, then this procedure is more than enough to fix the problem. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Swipe down from the Notification bar.
  2. Tap the Settings icon.
  3. Tap the General tab.
  4. Select Apps & notifications.
  5. Tap App info.
  6. Select Twitter app.
  7. Tap Storage.
  8. Then tap Clear Cache.

After this, try out the app to know if it still crashes or not and if it still does, then the next solution may work.

Fourth solution: Uninstall Twitter and reinstall it

Sometimes updating the app is enough to fix issues but there are also times when you really need to remove the app completely from your phone to delete all its associations with the firmware and other apps. After which, download the reinstall the app on your phone to make sure you have the latest version of the application on your device.

  1. Tap the Play Store app icon from the Home screen.
  2. Tap the Menu icon.
  3. Go to My apps & games.
  4. Select Twitter app.
  5. Tap Uninstall option.
  6. Then tap OK to confirm.

After the app is successfully removed, restart your phone then follow these steps to reinstall the Twitter app in the Play Store:

  1. Tap to open Play Store.
  2. Tap the Menu icon.
  3. Tap My apps & games.
  4. Select Twitter app. Be sure to select the Twitter version that’s supported by the current operating system on your phone.
  5. Tap Install.
  6. Then follow the onscreen prompts to reinstall the app.

Or you can also search for Twitter app using the Play Store search bar and then select the latest version of the app that is compatible with the current Android version of your phone.

I am confident that one of these procedures can fix the problem so you need to try them to know which one works for you. If, for some reason, the problem continues to bug you then you may need to do perform the Master reset.

  1. Back up all data on the internal memory before performing a master reset.
  2. Turn off the device.
  3. Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons.
  4. When the LG logo appears, quickly release and then re-hold the Power button while continuing to hold the Volume down button.
  5. When the ‘Delete all user data (including LG and carrier apps) and reset all settings’ message appears, use the Volume down button to highlight Yes.
  6. Press the Power button to reset the device.
